oregonians can't drive over the river and work at home depot in idaho, where the companies would save 20% on min wage labor?

i know it's possible to drive over that river, i've done it many times. tons of idahoans drive over that river daily to work at the correctional institution.

so why doesn't walmart or home depot set up in idaho and save 20% on labor for most of their employees?

there's a bridge that goes across the river to idaho. it would take about one minute by car to get from idaho (empty) to the walmart in oregon. it's on the very last exit, in fact.

Wages in alot of companies are typically no more than 45% of net cost, that means a 20% increase is only a maximum 9% increase in overall costs, but with the higher population density pushing sales typically up to 40-50%.
