Trichome Pics

I took some decent pictures of the trichomes today and thought I'd share them. It appears that most of them are cloudy at this point. Today is day 52 of 12/12.

Yeah, I agree, just a little bit longer and it's time to chop 'em down!

That's what I was thinking. I'm going to let them flush out some more of the chemicals and by that time they'll be ready for the chopping block. I think I've had plain water in the reservoir for four days now.

Those resins appear to be just starting to turn cloudy. I would say that you have at least another 10-14 days.

So you said "plain water in your reservoir." That would suggest that you are growing in hydro, and I'm amazed that you switched to plain water on Day 48. Did you think that they won't need any food for the last 2-3 weeks? That's the time when they will put on a lot of bud weight, and I want my plants to have the food they need during that time. So I flush for the last 5-6 days, usually starting around Day 60.

i can see my trichomes with my naked eye. i am in day 40 of flowering and havent used anything but water and soil.how much longerdo you all think, and how will i know.i am using t5s 4 4 foot fixture for 4 plants.this is my first time budding so i am clueless. i think the buds are kinda small, but i think i am doing o.k. soon as i figure out how to post pics, i will.thanx

You still have some time (2+ weeks minimum, more than likely closer to 4 but who know), using Floro lighting will get the job done, but typically (not always, but more often than not) the buds will be smaller and less compact vs using HPS, probably contributes to why you think they are small, well along with the fact that they still have a few more weeks of packin' it on!

one more question, hopefully someone can answer it.can you tell just by the hairs on the bud or do you have to look through a 100x magnifier?the reason i ask is yhat its har dfor me to look through the magnifier and get clost to the plant without moving it and or keeping a steady hand to really observe them.i can see them ,but my eyes hurt after 30 seconds of trying to be focused and steady.so back to my question, can i tell by just the hairs?i have a few red hairs , i would say 2 or 3% of the hairs are red.any help woul be appreciated , and the crop will be dedicated to my personal scientific consumption ,thanks

You can cut off a leaf, and take it inside to your desk to have a closer observation of it, that would cure the shaking and moving aspect of it. But I usually wait until I have about 25% orange hairs before I usually do that. Just for your own "scientific consumption" you can do it now, and any time you want...a small leaf every day won't hurt you, it will go along way towards helping you get more familiar with the process...good luck!
