MMPR Driving down black market prices?

Has anyone else notice a drastic decline in prices from b/m sellers? I've had to buy some the last month or so while I watch mine grow, and I can't believe the price. I'm on Vancouver Island and the price is usually $150/oz but I've been paying $75/oz. They guy has lbs. for $1200 and said the next batch could be $1000/lb. This is premium Island bud! So far it's just the one guy, but I wonder if there is a trend across the country?

I have seen a shift in SW Ont too. Not as dramatic as in BC.
I don't know if it's a result of the MMPR or a glut in supply, as a result of lesser demand from the USA.
The wholesale price is down as well as the end user price from the CCs.

If b/m growers and CC's truly want to make things hard for LP's, just keep dropping the price! ;)
They'll be doing that for survival not to make it hard on the LPs. They couldn't care less about LPs, it's all about protecting their market share.

Yep, prices have fallen BIG time in the last few months I've noticed. I was thinking all the growers under MMAR are trying to push out their stuff quickly instead of "mixing with cat litter and water" and throwing it away like HC told them to LOL

prices have been at that low level in Quebec for well over a year now !
My wife's nephew is in Montreal and says it is $180-$200. He's a student and won't know a lot of suppliers so he may be paying 'tourist' prices. What have you seen it go for?

Damn thats what we used to pay near the Northwest Territories when I was a teenager. Was not expecting such inflated pricing for a major "southern" city.

Personally I thinks it's the MMAR that are driving the prices down. If there was no MMAR right now I bet ya prices would be on the rise.

Hope you're doing well Raider, haven't seen you around for awhile.
I'm doing ok, thx leaf hope all is good with you as well. Been an eventful spring both good and bad but keeping me busy either way lol.

Haven't been on the forums as much lately but that's mostly due to no real interesting new news has come out for a while and just kind of tired about hearing the same things disscussed over and over again. I don't mean that in a negative way or anything but everything kinda seems to be at a stand still for now.

Hope everyone else is well too!! Later gang.

The black market is under cutting the LP game from over supply and market capture. The cheaper guy is tough to beat..ask Walmart.
Price sells. The black market is overall much bigger and more powerful than the LP's at this point. I predict lower still here and there. For those in the know who are bigger buyers. Street prices should drop too.
The BM isn't gonna just sit around and be outdone and loose share.

Well ya the Mmmar is knocking island prices down, but since the mmpr guys , e.g. tilray is selling the same bud you can get for 1k a pound why would I pay Tilray $10 a g for their diamond OG when the same diamond og can be had for a quarter the price .

Its been $1000/lb or less in the Lower Mainland BC for about 6-8 months now. Its not because of MMPR its because of all the big warehouses and BC had the highest amount of production licenses. Once the idiots with 200+ lighters figured out how hard it is to be doing this they started to flog the excess cheaper and cheaper untill the buyers didn't want to pay up any more and forced every one to sell low. For a few month I was getting pretty nice stuff for $800 from desperate guys.

What you are going to see is the reduction of dealers who would buy and sell for OZ's for $240-260 and now it'll be the smaller growers growing and selling for $100-120 where is still makes you $1600-2000 per lb. Fuck they could go down to $75 dollars/oz and still make $700 profit per lb.

One thing I'm seeing is people asking for different strain other then kush off shoots.

Pardon my ignorance...what is/was the range that people were buying an ounce for from their designated grower before the new system came into place? In my neck of the woods street buds were $150-$200 oz. Of course you never really knew what you were getting. I never had interactions with DGs.

Most DGs would sell/provide at cost or just above cost, particularly if your DG is/was friends/family. Cost of production falls somewhere between $0.35-2.00 a gram depending on a number of factors (outdoor/greenhouse vs indoor, strain, nutrients, etc). So $9.80-56.00 an ounce, possibly slightly more from a trusted DG.
