So as the weather in the UK is soooooo awful and it rains all the time what if i got a transparent umbrella and removed the handle.


Then fit the umbrella over the top of some chicken wire surrounding the plant.

I am only growing autos so they shouldn't be too tall and hopefully this should protect the plants from the poor british weather. Any thoughts??

How much does it rain a week outta curiosity?

As far as I can tell that looks like a good idea, I mean she'll still be getting watered from the ground runn off but I'm assuming ur worried about her getting battered by the rain?

I had a large group of seedlings get battered by the rain this week. It beat them up pretty bad.

Well in the last week its rained for about the last 4 to five days but I'm mainly worried about mould.

You'll have plenty if air circulation from the sides so mold shouldn't be much of an issue. Take umbrella off on dry days. Play 'singing in the rain' for plant with headphones, or small speakers, on days with abnormally high precipitation.

Looking on eBay I have found that a umbrella is about £5 and chicken wire is about £5 for a roll that will cover a few plants, so this seems like the perfect solution for the poor UK weather.

Do any of you really play music for your plants? Supposed to have some kind of stimulating effect - high pitched noises especially. Heard low bass tones actually are bad for plants too - they actually drain us of energy as well. Make you feel fatigued for some reason...
