I needed my car fixed and couldn't afford it. I met a guy that had a shade tree garage and let you use his tools and advice, for free. I replaced the clutch in my Datsun B-210, and was thinking about the brake job, when he approached me.

"The others guys say, you are not a Christian." I am too! I was baptized a Methodist!
"But, you talk about Gurus and devil stuff. That is Spiritual Counterfeit." (wtf?, blink blink)

I took a depth breath and looked around. "Is that the game here?"

He nodded and began an explanation about the Spiritual Counterfeits Project, something.

But, he was talking my back. I just walked away,

Not tolerant. No Western Religion is. It is the main mark that separates EAST AND WEST.

Don't worry, Eastern Religions have they own cruelty. Re-incarnation.
Protip: judaism, christianity and islam are all eastern religions...

they may not be form as far east as some, but they are from east of the bosporus, and that puts them squarely in the orient.

Last week up at the softball fields, a team was short a player. They asked if I would play, and I did. It was a bunch of good guys and I had a lot of fun. They were impressed by my game and asked if I could play the next week. I told them I could and I showed up and played again with them last night. Another fun night of softball. Anyway, after the game I was sitting on the ground changing my shoes and enjoying a beer. The manager called out for everyone to "bring it in for a prayer". I stayed sitting, enjoying my cold one. The looks that I got from them told me that I won't be playing ball for them again...
Imagine going to thanksgiving dinner for the first time with your girlfriends family.

It came time to fix your plate. I did and started eating before some of the slower members of her family got seated.

When grandma and grandpa got seated everyone went around the table saying what we were thankful for. I was like fuck, my food is getting cold. I hadn't noticed but everyone said god and his son jesus before before saying something worldly they were thankful for also. It got to me and I said microwave ovens.

so when the last person got done I left and zapped my plate.

I got back and everyone was looking at me. They were all still seated.

They all bowed their heads and prayed. A little girl was leading the prayer. Grandma opened her eyes to watch the child. She saw me not only with open eyes, but eating and looking at my girlfriends sisters tits.

Word got spread around the table. So the topic of thanksgiving dinner conversation was the need for my salvation.

I'm a late convert to christianity. I'm familiar with how uncomfortable they can make people. I'm usually offended by christians much more than nonchristians.

I dig in an' smile, an' stand mute, but if pressed, I smile even wider and say, "I'm not a theist." gotten many a stink-eye, but fuck'em. I went from awkward atheist, to confident atheist, to ardent atheist.

Did you know Hilary was ahead of Obama during the nominations when they STOPPED COUNTING VOTES and declared him the nominee? They paid for her acquiescence with the promise of the Secretary of State position. Sadly, she bungled that job so badly she can kiss her dreams of the Presidency goodbye.
They count the votes?

The problem with christians isn't biblical or anything about the religion.

In fact, if they followed biblical teachings, it wouldn't be a problem.

I try to be a light for others. What I mean by that is lead by example, not criticism or pressure. If the comment I'll give the glory to God. And if they ask I'll share.

But eating before everyone else was seated, disrespecting your hosts, and staring at your girlfriend's sister's tits wasn't offensive at all. I'm thinking you won't be invited back.

I am not a Christian. Why are you calling yourself princess?
i am wondering why the only people you have ever tried to call out as bigots are me and schuylaar when we literally had white supremacists all over this forum last year and no small number of racists still running around.

why, in fact, did you preach for tolerance at that time and accuse people like me of being intolerant for not wanting them on the board?

kind of a fucked up set of values you have there, even for apache junction standards.

I do not live in Apache Junction. You remind me of my mother once she drank herself into insanity. She literally burned out her short term memory so would have to be constantly reminded... Sad you should be relegated to the same fate... I wont go as far as saying it is a waste.

You are intolerant. Everyone can clearly see that but you.

Schuylaar is being a bigot when she attacks all Christians for being up in her face with their religion. It is a fact... I didnt tell her to GTFO... I just called her out and moved on. Something you seem completely unable to do.

Just because you don't want the crackhead outside of the 711 it isn't your right or duty to remove him. That is why your still on these boards.

Well of course, but it splits off beliefs, east to west, (not counting Buddhist expansion eastward, of course.) The Buddhist Lower Deamon World and the ideas of rebirth from the Hindu were mixed with the earlier All Godworld Unity Concept of the Tao.

And smeared with the Greek inner self idea, of Kristo, you get the Christo/Islamo breakout of Western History Begins.

Crash in a bit of Edgar Casey, running for your life, and the Ute Indians and you get Mormon.

There is your protip.

Fair point, I was rude.

It wasn't like I was cutting up my turkey. I think I took a bite of my roll and mashed potatoes. Then my girlfriend poked me in the leg.

So I waited a minute or two for the old folks.

Then we did the hokey thankful bit.

Then I left the table because there were a good 15 people there and my food had been on a plate a good 10 minutes and was getting tepid.

Everyone looked shocked when I walked back in from the kitchen.

Not participating in the prayer was engaging to my girlfriends father.

Anyway, at the time I was not a believer. I didn't want to fake it.

The point was in responding to NoDrama's story about not participating in prayer. Those people get like insulted if you don't join them in their circlejerks.

Even now as a believer I'm not a big proponent of group prayre. It's supposed to be a personal relationship with Christ.

when I open the door an' the Jehovah's Witnesses are standing there, I look scared, scream, "CHRISTIANS!!," an slam the door.
Last time one of the knock doors for god groups came by, I answered the door, looked at them, and before they had a chance to say anything I said, while pulling my pants down, "ok guys, I'll do it this time, but make it quick I have to be at work in one hour. "

They looked at each other and left. Didn't say a word to me.
