My sister came to visit for her birthday (so we stayed at our parents house) and the day she left she said something a little rude towards me, maybe not on purpose, but it made me mad and we got in a minor argument.

Then my stepdad came in bitching (at me) and my sister was LITERALLY yelling "He hasn't done anything wrong" to get him to stop yelling at me, and approaching me like he was "going to do something".

My sister continued to yell "He has not done anything" he got in my face and I said "Can you not hear her?" he got closer in my face and I said "Fuck you" and now he is pretending he is mad at me for that, as if he wasn't being a complete ass to me before.

Have you ever met an asshole that feels like they need to insert themselves into anything that they can? (Kinda like Uncle Buck does to me on this site, or at least used to)

So, if it had been my stepdad and my mom arguing and my mom's friend had been the one to walk up and be an asshole, thinking my stepdad was being mean to my mom. Would it be kid problems then? Or do you just have a biased and for some reason view me as a kid because you have a hard time responding to most of the things I say, and would rather pretend I am "a kid" so you can ignore it and remain ignorant?

And they may be kid problems. But it's (supposedly) a grown man causing them.

It's not about who's right or wrong!! U hurt his feelings by cussing at him , be the bigger man and let this go. He may not apologize but u should out of respect. .you should be happy he protects your sister. I know i would at the very least respect him because he is willing to stick his nose out for (i don't have a sister )but in this case your sister...just say sorry give him a hug and call it a day!!

Nope. You seem to have another kind of person in mind. The assholes I am talking about are the ones that have nothing to add, no dog in the fight, but decide to put in their two cents, which is usually some kind of shitty statement about someone they don't like. And even willing to insert their ego into the middle of it all.

That would be a great idea if he had the ability to reform. But he has always been an asshole and this is just his newest excuse to hate me. It was exactly the same before this.

No, I think he attacked me because he likes feeling righteous, and can't stand things moving forward in discussion unless he was part of it. And he can't have me being right ever, that would just be dreadful to admit.

Most of my family acts like they are somehow jealous of me.

I am poor. I am starving (my stomach no longer growls), I can't find a job (because I have a warrant that should be on my sister), and I live my entire life in the pursuit of helping and teaching other people. But somehow they act like I am in an ivory tower. It makes no sense.

I don't see why a family would be intimidated by someone's intelligence. If I found out that I had a really intelligent family memeber I would want to work with them and get shit done. Not act like I was in direct competition with them. At that point you are no longer being a family, and there is not really a way for me to try to fix that. But I am 22 fucking years old, it's not my job to fix that. All I did was think "too much".
