i agree with klite. as a meat eater, what's the difference between eating a cat or dog and a pig or cow, except that we've domesticated cats and dogs of course, but killing is killing, and meat is meat after all.. it's all just cultural really, imvho..
food chain privilege

some spasticated humans with brain problems (maybe some RIU members would fit this description
are less intelligent than gorillas or dolphins
the food chain does not allow us to use these humans for food .. they be lucky

We've raised steer and pigs. Pigs were harder to slaughter b/c they do have a personality and are intelligent. Steers? I won't bore you with all the details about them, but by the time fall rolled around I wanted to shoot them myself. They would shit in their food, bust out of the coral, etc.

i watch that show, alaska, last frontier.. not sure if you've ever seen, or how real the show is or w/e, but it's about these people who pretty much live off of the land on a homestead up in alaska, and they keep a herd of cow, and the father, who pretty much kills all kinds of animals and all for food all of the time, well, he even finds himself getting attached to some of the cows, and he had to have his son kill this one cow that he was rather found of.. i can see how that'd work, i've said it numerous times on here, no way in hell i think i could ever be a farmer...
i guess i could kill and eat my own food if i had to, but as things are, i don't have to, which is just fine with me..

We watch it all the time. I think you bring up an interesting point. People are increasingly removed from their food source. This is true w/ produce as well as meat. I didn't relish the slaughter part, but the reason we raised our own meat is b/c of all the shit the commercial animals are fed. Egads. Have you seen those hidden camera vids of the horrendous treatment at the slaughter houses?

Not sure, just exactly, what point you are trying to get across to me here. You should probably talk to me like you would someone that was educated in the penal system.
Will you bend over if I give you a pack of cigarettes?

no, and i refuse to watch.. i honestly enjoy being ignorant, i'm not going to lie and sugar coat shit.. i love meat.. mmm mmm good, and i don't want anything turning me off of that... but, i have watched a lion kill a bunny, and there's not much that's not brutal about that either imo.. death is death, dead is dead..
