Block IR/Heat signature

yah my whole ceiling is lined with something just like it

it works but the stuff is a little bit of a bitch to put up and hold.........................i would clean your ceiling with bleach water so the double sided tape has a clean hold

rem if u perice those air bubbles the protection will not work that air barrier it makes is what hides u

now since u are doing this u need to know somethings to save u a head ache ..............the heat in the room will build up since it can no longer excape by raising up
so your ducting it needs to be insulted ............your area will most likey need a AC get atleast a 10000btu (i have a 5000 btu in a 12x12x7 room it is barely keeping the temp i want ......led growth tent is 5 degrees above intake the Hid flowering tent is about 11 degrees so my room is set for 68...)

Its going to be a 12x16 foot flowering room (veg is a seperate story) but I want the block IR in both rooms. The flowering room is going to have 6000W running. Its going to be an airtight room (besides the door). I have a 3ton mini split AC going in the flower room with the compressor outside the garage (36,000 btu AC).

Thats really good info on not to pierce the block IR. But what Im wondering is does it actually block the heat signature? Dude at my hydro store said this industry isnt really regulated so any company can make any claim and its not real.

Has anyone independently verified the effectiveness of the various available options using a recognized thermal imaging camera?

i do not have a Flair IR camera to comfirm and post picks i am using logical thinking

it should work.........the idea is the mylar reflects the heat and light back in ......then the air barrier in the center keeps the 2 lvls different so the heat can not transfer over their by blocking u (like a big puffy jacket in winter )

as for if they work (YES THEY WORK ) i live in a area i get 4 to 7 choppers a day becuase of where i am (bio weapon fort /camp david/next to major highway so they use it to fallow the path to shock tramas and i have feild and feild of corn everywhere so they always do scans looking to bust the stuip teens) .....................i sell to a 2nd top cop in this county his father.........i know IR works he was just telling me about this grow set up a little bit away from us the guy want out full loaded he had a whole house IRed .............they could not see shit the only reason he got popped was something ratted him out to save their ass from jail (from what i understand that grow room has been going for years)

how do i know well u can test it fair simple ..........cook the room (let the heat build up with no plants in it ...............the room will get warm and then hot turn the power off and let it sit there shut door ..............go away and come back once a hour and watch the temp of it...........if u have done it right the air temp will drop slowlly over 5 to 8 hours .............if u have leaks the heat will be gone in less then 2/3 hours

Is there any way I can compare taking a piece of cardboard (which has air pockets) putting some kind of tin or aluminum foil on each end and using that as insulation with this product?

no sir

the items has to be done correctly .............6 ml mylar one side shinny out ..........then a sealed bubble rap.......then a 2nd 6 ml mylar

to try to make the stuff and seal them together takes alot of room then a set of rollers to apply pressure to attach them all with out weaking or popping the bubble wrap in the middle

if u want a cheaper do it self thing .............u can take the wall down and insulation with stronger stuff the foam stuff will block IR becuase they form those little bubbles inside the foam to make the air barrier

ediit......note this will increase the value of the house ..........u have 2 choices 1 before the drywall goes up u can polywrap your walls then attach the dry then put up a reflective coating of mylar on the inside ............or u can take mylar put it up instead of poly wrap put the drywall up and then paint the room flat white

edit..........one finaly trick i know about IR blocking Tin roof they hate them and they are illegal to build in some states becuase they will aborb the heat from the day making the camera crap they can not see in or passed it becuase of this (my area u are not allowed to use as roofing materals anymore becuase of this only building that orginal had it are allowed to use )

Seems hard to hang lights if you have the block IR stuff, if you cant pierce it at all. Ill have to figure out a work around. The foam seems good but Im going to have to tear the room down eventually.

Im guessing these dont work? I was hoping to pick it up in person

http://www.homedepot.com/s/reflective%20insulation?NCNI-5
it saids 95% reflection ...............heat

i am not 100% sure about this stuff i do not want to say yes and that 5% is what gets u popped...............i would stick to the ones that call themself IR blockers (figure they had a flair camera and tested it atleast once so they can claim that on ads)

as for the foam borad things ...again i am not 100% sure the theory behide it is correct but it was never tested for that/ sold as that so again i am unsure and would not want to risk it

depending on where u are u are looking at alot of time

if they raided my place i get 20 years strait off then if they wanted too 1 more year for each peice of equipment i have that goes for growen weed........at this point it would be life for me plus a few hunderent years

so the cost vs going to prison for rest of life ...................the cost is shit (i spent more then 30k on a lawyer for a simple 1/8 weed charge and i still did 4 months in lock up .....better then year)

They IR cameras cant see through walls.......and the FLIR's are looking for heat coming out of the house...they cannot see it inside your home......once again....they cannot see through the walls of your house in any way....GL bro! :)

If you wanna cover your ass I todays world.....re-vent your hot exausted air and use it to heat your house......they look for the vents or places high heat is coming out of house....:) If you have a woodstove or heater in garage, or chimney...use it to vent exhausted hot air.....bob's your uncle! IMO

Be sure...and I cannot stress this enough....if your dealing with having internet or cable television in your garage or house(or if any of your neighbors have internet lol).....get a RF shielded ballast....this simple stupid thing, almost got my buddy busted when the cable guy showed up at his house telling him there has been so much RF(radio frequency waves that cheap electronic or digital ballasts use) interference to mess with the whole streets internet!!! I shit you not! :) BUY QUALITY RF shielded ballast if you can? :) Or I think the old Magnetics don't let off any RF waves? :) GL bro! :)

Im using a mini split AC to cool the room. So theres going to be no exhaust out of the flowering room. The veg room is going to have an exhaust fan going into the garage and Ill just let the garage stay hot. The insulated rooms should be enought to keep the plants cool.

Good one! I love those ballasts...truth be told....I always wanted a ballast with a remote...lol....although....im sure they must be RF shielded?.....I don't see anything regarding on site? Very nice units! :)
