I had this clone given to me by a friend the thing is that the leaf stems have turned purple/red. Is this a deficiency or is it common for some strains for this to happen never had this happen to any of my clones before. The main stem is green with purple/red line going up it also it's still in veg also and I don't know what strain it is because he never said. thanks every one:leaf:

It depends on how old the clone is, if it's still fresh it could just be the plant reacting to the stress of being clipped, purple stems could also be a lockout due to PH, there is a lot of stuff it could be, pics?

I've never seen mag overdose, but mag deficiency shows as reddening and yellowing between the veins and cal shows as rusty spots on leaves.
I've seen some that have od their plants with mag thinking they had a deficiency but indeed od too much mag.. but hey every strain can be different.. happy 4th people

Most clones I deal with start off with purple stems from fan leafs after they root. I would let it be for a week or so and address the problem if it still exists then.

Looks fine, probably just a genetic thing, looks pretty stretched though, what kind of light are you using and how far away is it?

using a fluorescent tube light that i always use for vegging or for clones. I have been feeding it with formulex veg nutes and it look as if the purple lines down the stem are fading but not 100% sure will have to just keep an eye on it. Also the light is about an inche away.
