XGS & RW150 canna aqua v2.0 coco

Alright so after the cyano infection that was also apparently reeking havoc on local residents pools and pumps I found out. I just went back to coco instead of trying to battle it. Apparently there are tons of spores in the air and I'm not about to try to combat that in a closet grow. I'd have to put containment and sterilization equipment along with stringent aseptic technique which isn't practical for this situation, environment, or even a desire of mine. So......

Here we are back to coco. Though this time no AN nutes, and using canna coco instead of dutchmen. I'm trying to use the canna aqua nutes from last round so they aren't just being wasted. Once it seems the spores and such have subsided I will do another tub with no chiller, ideally in the summer so I can test to see if temps can be dealt with. So basically this is to test out a couple things, 1 if I want to stick with canna or go back to AN and 2 if I can get DWC to reliable in this small spot

Medium: Canna coco with sphagnum peat, and perlite added.

Nutrients: RO water veg; cana vega A&B, rhizotonic, cal mag plus, and super thrive. Flower Cana flores A&B, cal mag plus, rhizotonic, superthrive, and some molasses and PK 13/14 later on.

8- ~2 gal airpots. (Tangerine dream, galaxy, jamaican d, sour diesel, chunky diesel, headband, glass slipper, and sweet tooth)
2 -2gal smart pots.(Jamaican D and galaxy) and about 10 solo cups

Will follow..............first throw the superthrive in the trash next are you adjusting your fert/ro water's ph accordingly with PEAT in your coco medium? showing some lock/defs at this early stage, think your running too acidic imo....

Super thrive is just being used up because it's around, didn't know i still had any. Figured why not. LOL Most of what you are probably seeing are either the picky tangerines or what's from before transplant. I went very light on feedings. Then the tangerines don't seem to like small cups. All of them have done the same thing and just lock out Mg and K. The td in the back left is about to get hashed out. pH is 5.7-5.9 on runoff.

Interesting. Yeah the first round with td in coco with AN sensi was a sinch. No issues really. Dwc, other nutes... man totally different story. Picky bitch for sure. Glad to know its not just me. But man that smell and taste is awesome. LOL and yeah I'm measuring ppm and pH before and then also collecting run off samples. Just because then I have a better idea what's going on in the rootzone. Pretty much handling the coco as I would feeding for a hempy bucket.

I am sorry to hear that Tangerine Dream is that finicky. After I read about it, I have been REALLY tempted. Much worse than your average Haze cross?

Little peek at what's going on. Got the tangerine in the air pot doing fine(front right corner), The plants in the center have stayed a lime green color, hasn't gotten better but hasn't got any worse either. Might bump up the N a tiny bit on those. The Jamaican D I put in the smart part freaking exploded. It was just a fresh rooted clone that just stretched out and is now just a couple inches from the XGS(4-5"). No bleaching.... Kinda surprised. I let the chunky D get about 8" away from the RW last time and there were no issues. Will see.

Buddy asked for some lights out pics to see how bad the underfert is. Seems I'm feeding a little heavier than my buddy running the same stuff(genetics medium and nutes) just under HPS.My sweettooth is definitely turning into an N hog. pH and everything is fine. Just seems like it has a high metabolism. That and I'm sure them being in the center might be adding to that a little.

After talking to Mr. Flux decided to give a simple hash e-cig prep for some.... what for it.... Iso washes from the bubble bags. LOL Figured that way it wouldn't be a waste either way really. The iso bag wash was just slow evaporated until basically both powdery and glass like. Scraped up and pressed then dried more.

For the prep. I used some stuff I picked up locally. So the blend was a mix of 70/30 PG/VG with some PE300 and 400. just put water in a skillet put a glass in there with some water. Brought it up to boil, let the solvent warm. Then added the hash and slowly stirred it in. Though I noticed like with bubble hash it seems good to stabb the stir stick instead of swirling. So I did both, up and down motions then swirls and just kept going. I made this last night. It does the job fine. Taste pretty damn good. I used the tangerine dream for that and you can tell. Not like the full melt bubble but I can dig it. LOL Glad to see not much phase separation at all as you can see. Was able to make a decent amount. So far I'm not disappointed, but time will tell.

Oh and reason for the crazy pattern when on the parchment it's because I just pressed it out on the kitchen table and it took on the woodgrain pattern.

Not what I would call training. Really just topping to take clones and clearing a little lowers initially. Then just let it go. LOL been lazy as fuck lately. NEED to get things squared away so I have more time to mess with this one. So next plants going in I plan on doing a little LST and getting back to supercropping like in the past.

I make up some QWISO then melt that and mix with 100% USP grade PG.

I've never used anything other than pure PG...so it fully mixed and never separated using 70/30 huh?

I'm also starting to play around with decarbing the QWISO and mixing it with coconut oil and making capsules...

Coconut oil capsules are great. I only blacked out once from an especially potent one. But usually, they were awesome.

Yea man it worked great and the vapor is more dense than the PG only I've tried elsewhere. I'm assuming that's from the VG. Here are some pics of the same stuff that's still left today. Still solid.

Was the first time trying. Just got the PG and VG locally, USP grade. PG from the tractor supply and VG from the walmart cake decorating section. Just made the QWISO cleaning the bubble bags. evaporated until crystalline. I wasn't initally planning on doing it so the QWISO after dry was pressed, that's not necessary though. Just brought water to boil in a double boil fashion. Added some 1tbsp of salt to 1 pint of water to raise the boiling point and to prevent boil over. Once the water was boiling I placed a little of the PG/VG mix in a shot glass and warmed it for about 10 minutes. Added the hash kept the heat on my electric range at 9(with only HIGH being the only option higher). And stirred it around here and there for about 40 minutes. But since mine was pressed I didn't just stir I stabbed the little hash ball repeatedly to break it up, then stir. Afterwards just loaded directly into the tanks warm.

When I make QWISO i use either 91% or 99% Isopropyl alcohol. I freeze the iso, glass jars, and materials before hand for at least 24hrs. I'll do 2 washes of approx 25-30 seconds each. I filter that thru a non-bleached coffee filter to get rid of some impurities. Then pour it into a pyrex pan. I use a good fan, and just evaporate off the ISO that way. The first several hours are intense, so make sure you have plenty of good ventilation when doing this. After about 4-6hrs you shouldn't have any more fumes. And depending on your fan and setup it can take anywhere from 8-24hrs for all the ISO to evaporate.

Yeh in vapor PG = throat hit, VG = billowing clouds. I'll have to mix up some different ratios and see how they do. I know after a whole tank pure PG starts to get a lil harsh.

I hope that never happens...I've only ever blacked out on alcohol and shrooms lol.

Next time I make some I'm going to try mixing in soy lechtin for the capsules. I hear it makes for a more consistent mixture, as well as somehow making it stronger too.
