Can't figure out this plant problem! Help Needed ;)

Seems as though the stem cracked... any ideas how this happened?

It did rain a lot for the week and a half that I didn't visit the site. When I visited the site today a stem with weed was hanging by a thread from the plant...

The plant in the black pot is a total goner while the green one I think still might prevail.. but if you look closely at the last picture one of the small stems with weed looks like it's going to crack off soon too...

Will the weed that is growing continue to grow even though the main stem is broken?

Inside much appreciated! :)

chicken wire, cats, dogs, shotgun with bird shot. You could set out a live trap and catch the bugger. Take a piece of rope and wrap it around the area with the plant. maybe it will think its a snake coil it up like one. some hunting supply stores have fox piss or big cat scat its used for cover scent but might work to scare off a rabbit.

I just read human hair works? How about peeing near the plant..lol?

Also are you 100% it's an animal and not some other plant problem?

That's for the help btw!

The stems look as though they were cut rabbits dont usually eat the whole plant they just chew branches off chew the stalk in half and leave the plant alone after its destroyed. its happened to me many times. only once did they actually eat some branches and I captured him a live trap with carrots and celery. That is the rabbits mo im 99% sure

Look around in the area do you see any tree bark and branches chewed that's about the same height as the damage on your plants?

I will have to go back and check but it's mostly tall grass in the area and bushes.. There could potentially be lots of creatures around? Not really much trees.

Would you say it's an animal for sure over a plant nutrition/water problem?

I have never heard of a plant problem that involved branches falling off and having sharp angles thats a rabbit bite they have a slight overbite so it cuts a slight angle.

Okay thanks. Good to know. Here I was kicking myself for not watering it more ;)

I heard though that bigger plants are normally safe right against rabbits once the stems get thicker? I would hate for the other plants to have the same fate!

Put some dog shit near it or mothballs but dont get the mothballs too close to the plants ten feet away could work.

Can I just pee or cut my hair lol, both those are easy and at my disposal!
I cant say it will work mothballs are cheap and you can find them everywhere. quick story I did a gorilla grow years ago planted about seven plants in the swamp. one day I went out to check on them and rabbits ate them all off to the ground. so i put one more out and threw mothballs around the area away from the plants but close by. came back in the fall and all the chewed up plants were five foot tall bushes. I see yours are flowering so it may be a bit late for you.
