yes the longer you vegg the greater your yield will be
genetics are the number ONE thing to NEVER overlook! it's always gonna put a ceiling on your grow capabilities.Well, some folks buy in to the notion that if you're a good grower, you will produce amazing plants no matter the genetic make-up. I tend to think that genetics play a far larger role in this equation.
I do belong to the shit growers club though, so take my thoughts on this with a grain of salt
Because it might hold true for your experience, but it is not true for everyones experience. saying you will find a keeper in every pack, it's nonesense. take a look at the number of people who've created a thread asking why their entire pack was shit. Are we looking for good medicine here??? Or the winner of the next cannabis cup? of course "keeper" is subjective.
And I do just fine from 3-6 seed runs so not sure why uour so quick to discredit my post.
I have never ran a 5 pack of anything without getting one plant that stands out and is great smoke.
Ive never grown a plant from anyone i would say was "bad" either.
There are so few lines that don't require some selection.Because it might hold true for your experience, but it is not true for everyones experience. saying you will find a keeper in every pack, it's nonesense. take a look at the number of people who've created a thread asking why their entire pack was shit.
And again. Not everyone wants to buy and run a 5 pack. Myself included. I want to be able to buy 1 feminized seed, run it, and get a good product, this is not always the case. GHS strawberry haze (grew 2) utter and total waste of my time, TGA Void (grew 1) utter waste of time, GHS church (grew 1) utter waste of time, seedsman? cali hash (grew 1) utter waste of time. So if i were to ask for a good breeder or strain, i would not want to be recommended something that maay require 5 or 10 attempts to find something worth smoking.
But there are certainly breeders, where you know that if you plant it, it may not be the keeper, as per the following comment, but it will still be a great smoke. There are a good number of breeders where there is every chance the smoke won't even be any good. There are so few lines that don't require some selection.
I agree, I kept the same one for my whole time growing. But you still grow other things alongside, to see what there is, and to keep things changing. I had about a year of smoking almost nothing but exodus cheese, and it eventually became like a cigarette. But one joint of a new and good strain, and I'd be back to a stoned mess. Why I sometimes like my dealer. There is no negotiation or choice, just a price. Ever week or two its something different.if you like the plant you keep it until you find something better LOL
i normally grow seeds keeping the best from the last run to run as a clone alongside the new seedsI agree, I kept the same one for my whole time growing. LOL that's a good one. Some people really think they can charge others for crossing 2 plants because they've done it first. I'm sure the first law suits are already in the pipeline. Carry on like this and in 5 years Monsanto will take over the weed business in the US. Roundup ready.Sure. I'm currently running....
intellectual property
For a breeder recommendation i can only repeat what has already been mentioned and go with the cheaper ones to start with. Greenhouse seeds is more hit and miss, i would do good research before buying one of theirs. Pyramid Seeds has a pretty good rep and reasonable prices.

This is laughable. How would they ever be able to prove anything like this? Are they going to check every breeder's stuff and if they find "their" genetics they sue them?Yes. I was just informed of this recently. Apparently using a male from a pack of seeds to pollenate another plant is stealing their intellectual property.
I wonder if they frown upon taking clones too?

I mean, i'm sure they will find "their" stuff elsewhere because they got it from somewhere else in the first place. Or have they watermarked their self invented gene sequence? Hahaha utter idiots they are.

OK fair enough. I'll keep my eyes open though, any breeder jumping on that train and officially supports such an attitude is not getting my support. To be fair, this wasn't an "official" representative of Gage that brought this to my attention. It was a tester for Gage...a very highly regarded one.
I thought I knew who you referring to until the last part.To be fair, this wasn't an "official" representative of Gage that brought this to my attention. It was a tester for Gage...a very highly regarded one.

Actually plants do have traceable DNA. And its not laughable because every element in legal agriculture is already like this. Universities are constantly developing new strains of wheat, barley, corn etc. With the hope of finding something that grows better in specific climates. Once youve developed a strain of anything in demand, you get royalties from anyone that grows it under regulation....This is laughable. How would they ever be able to prove anything like this? Are they going to check every breeder's stuff and if they find "their" genetics they sue them?
