Emergency out of state trip -- have buds curing, need help!

I have to leave on a emergency out of state trip tomorrow morning. I have new buds curing at about 65-70% humidity, burping a few times a day. Need some advice quick. I don't want them to get mold and would rather have too dry bud than no bud. What are my options? Just leave the top off the jar?

How long are you going to be gone for? If it's just a day or two leaving them closed shouldn't cause any issues unless your bud is still really wet, and if it's that wet they probably shouldn't be in jars yet anyway

At least 4-5 days, pretty much the whole week.

I personally would put them in paper bags and fold top! Just a newbs 2 cents

Paper bags would work just fine most likely.

Yup, paper bags in or out , a plastic or glass container. Lid on or off.
either way the paper will stop the mould.

Putting the bags into a airtight box for a few days is also a good way to 'sweat' the buds out, to cure a bit quicker, the paper bag sucks up all the excess moisture.

No problem I am looking for the most easiest way to cure been doing my Sunday reading and I love the KISS principle in all . Being a new grower I hesitate to give advice but this site offers so much good info I felt like if I left town I would do this good luck let us know how things turn out.

Maybe go to the Boveda website and search for vendors in your area. The 62% packs would probably be ideal.

Never cured in paper bags but I have heard it can leave a taste in the buds depending on the bag. Again never done it so dont know. As said if it is still moist you better not leave it in the jar. Dry pot is better than mouldy pot lol.

Forgot to mention , I have only ever used brown paper food bags aswell, not white ones,

it would at least slow down the process. prevent mold etc..

use the 62 just stick them in a jar with your bud and you are good to go as long as they aren't fresh cut and wet.

I put buds in the freezer all the time and finish drying them when I get ready to start a new jar. They are typically pretty much done before they go in though. Its kind of frowned upon but its never affected quality imo.

Yeah, Im with you on that one, even if its a reduction in quality, The damage from mold is way worse..

I would put something over the jar so they get SOME air but don't dry up. Anyways I think i'm too late.

Thanks everyone. There wasn't a whole bunch curing so I set the jar sideways and spaces out the buds as evenly as I could. I left the top off, I'm sure they will dry out but I could get some boveda packs if I need too.
