First of all please don't have a go at me for this it's just what has worked for me In a last resort
so I'm Just putting up a quick post for all you riu users and lurkers out there that have trouble germinating your beans I know your out there weather they be old stock or just stubborn this is what has worked for me thanks to some awesome help Iv got from other users (you know who you are)
Starters I use cotton wool cause it's easy to make in contact with the whole seed you can use your preferred material
And rain water
I start by scrapping the side of the seed where the seam is lightly with a sharp knife
I then wipe the seed well in a clean cloth to remove any oils and crap that may be on it
Then I put it into the cotton wool making sure it is damp but not too damp and put into a small dark container with a lid and put in somewhere warm (I float the container in my fish tank cause it has a heater set to 25c)
I check it in 24hrs it should have cracked
I then check another 12-25 hours later if the tap root hasn't grown at all I gently pry the seed shell off the embryo and put the embryo back in the cotton
in another 24 hours If it still hasn't changed I gently remove the embryonic sack from the embryo with tweezers you should be extremely careful doing this and use gloves if you can whenever handeling seeds and the stuff it's sitting in
put it back in the cotton wool leave another 12-24 hours and you should see some good growth of the root by now and should put it into your soil as soon as you can just under the surface
Put it into a warm spot in the dark or under a light if you can be sure it doesn't dry out and the seed has a few mm of soil covering it now you wait (I know this part sucks) in a day or so you should see it break the surface and then happy growing
Remember this method is strictly a last resort and should not be used if you have other options because there is a crazy high chance you will damage the seed and kill any chance it has,
If you are going to do this Try every other method you can think of before hand this has an extremely low success rate
