Well... I'd say that is nothing more then a glorified fan. A TRUE A/C puts off condensation.... and would not be good inside a computer chassis.... if you catch my drift.

If your cabinet is closed.... then really all that fan does is push the hot air around. I'd focus on a way to bring COOL air in through your intake fan.... blowing it across the light and extracting with the outtake fan. I'm talking of course about an air cooled reflector. Yes it's more money..... but with a small space like 2x2x4 I don't see how else you are going to keep it cool enough with a 400 Watt HPS.

Of course you could always buy that computer "a/c" thing and let us know how it works ;)

It will. Its a peltier junction. Same things they use in those powered coolers/warmers for your car.

Specs don't match though. Top of page says 82w and specs lower say 52W.
You'd get maybe a 2F degree drop in the room. (and a delta temp around 8F)

It will what? Lower the temp? with a 400 watt HPS beating down on it? I'm seriously doubting that! I have to use a 10,000 btu portable a/c to control the temps of my room due to my 400 Watt HPS. My room is upstairs.... so naturally it's a little hotter then the rest of the house anyway.... but still.... I'm SERIOUSLY doubting that little fan is going to make a dent in the heat put off by a 400 Watt HPS.

But whatever.... only one way to find out... go for it. ;)

florida girl... peltiers are nice but they create heat on the other side...

and florida are you dissipating the hot air from your ac? AC's create heat too and if it is in an enclosed room you could bake your plants.

LOL.... well it may be nice ... I'm just doubting it has what it takes to cool the heat of a 400 Watt HPS in a 2x2x4 space. I could be wrong... I certainly have been many times before.

As to my A/C .... yep... I vent it outside. My room stays a nice 77 degrees. I keep the a/c on low because if I put it on high it gets down to the low 70s. I like 77 degrees.... it seems to be about perfect.

I said 2F. That ain't much. Plus he only has 16 cubic feet. Plus he has venting.

im just going to save up for a portable a/c and stick it by the intakes. but for now ill just leave the door open.

Could just grow during winter too. Thats gonna be my style. Just keep a momma over the summer months. Just keep growing from now till spring. Should hold me.

another thing you can do (its a pain) is freeze 2 two liter bottles of water and place them on the ground. Im assuming your vents are on the top so hopefully it will pull some of the cold air up. It also my raise humidity a small amount.

good idea thanks, my intake vents are at the bottom and exhaust at the top so this would work fine if i put the 2 liters by the intakes.

Hey, what *are* the temps? I've heard a bunch of people saying lately that 85F isn't a prob for flowering.

Turn the lights on and measure a few times a day. Especially before the lights go on! Need that baseline.

well right now 90F but i decided to put them (bag seed)outside and grow my white rhino inside during the fall through winter so i don't have to buy a portable a/c or use the frozen 2 liters.
