Ok... several things are in my opinion so cool to do this:
1. In summer time i just cant use HPS too much heat even with cooltube 34C+++ with leds stable at MAX 28C
2. Space issue - HPS with cooltube and all fixing are just pain in the ass (isolated flexy tube,cooltube, carb filter...)
3. LEDs are SO SO better in lifespan with no lumen reduction (in some case even inproove)
4. LEDs are SO SO SO much friendly with mother nature than any other artificial light (production of leds are clean, less elec. cosumtion, less heat= less ventilation needed= again less elec., and so and so....
5. ALot better spectrum if u know how to mix colours... = much better taste, health of plant, solid dense buds!!
6. I belive this new cobs are even more eye friendly than any other hid or old leds.
7. I have a good results with cheep chinese leds using 2y now withh no problems at all with good results, cant inmagine what can do a CoB CXA3050 Z4 with a little experience...
8. A bit of investment at start and u will be fine atleast 5y!!! So they are not so expensive... they are cheeper vs HPS if u take a 2y period and than calculate all...
9. Hps is relative old technology VS LEDs... u cant inproove any hid light... they are at 95% total inproovment...
LEDs are just at begining and they rocks!!!
10. IM NOT SO RICH, TO BUY CHEEP!!! Cheep is in most case bad idea... and not cheep at all!!!
11. I can put another tons of rights, but u need to find by your own what im talking about...

1st grow ever, cheep chinese leds all the way!
I was tottay noob and started my 1st grow with these cheep chinese leds.
Total 2x 300w- real electricity consumption was 372w/both lights.
Got 210g dried rly great buds!!! Sour diesel and critical strains.
NO BULLSHIT!!!

Budmaster II 675w, type it into GOOGLE buy one (or however many you need) then send me a thank you baggie when you're done flowering.
They obliterate 600w HPS/MH per m2, 10 years life span. not cheap but worth every cent/penny/yen whatever currency

Im a new grower but have done a lot of research on LED growing and am currently growing with a panel (I hab pictures on a thread here that you can look at if interested--- wont mention the brand name because i don't want people thinking im peddling a company/product. Although very satisfied with the purchase)
You should browse the LED section and look at some grows. Lots of people have success with the Chinese units (which the vast majority and just re-branded and marketed). For as many success stories there are horror stories of unit malfunction with the stuff from China.
Even with my panel I don't expect it to produce as much as the 600w hps it is advertised to compare to, but still believe it will produce what i need for personal supply. Id look at the Area-51, onyx bloom, apache (budget permitting).

Pic of one of the plants on last page. I have a lot of pics to post this weekend. When I built the cabinet I took pictures for a tutorial on building one (simple carpentry tricks and stuff). My wifi is junk so it takes too long to upload them all but will add some close ups of the panel and fan/carbon filter set up

Next run ill be going with some diesel (sour and NYC I think). My person fav is sour diesel but have never grown it, only smoked. Good ol' Durban poison brings back good memories from my time in south africa.

durban poison is my all time fav strain...I wish everyone could try this one. Flavor city. I think it grows very tall but not for sure.

Super tall! I've seen some outdoor ones that were just towers, but maybe that had to do with the African summer. I wish I could do an outdoor run with some DP but the summer here where I live isnt long enough
