harvest idea good or bad?

The key to a top shelf product is to dry as slowly as possible. IMO dry the whole plant then trimming just before putting into the jar for the remainder of the cure is the only way to go. As the fan leaves dry and wrap around the buds they help slow the drying process. You just have to keep a closer eye out for mold. And it is a pain manicuring using this method...but well worth the effort in the end. And leaving them in the pot, probably not. Cut them at the soil surface and hang upside down, thats the way too go.

So the thing I think you're not seeing the same as me is the plant IS GOING TO die. Regardless. The ripening is still a concern to me because I think it will do exactly what you think. The darkness I am convinced has a very positive effect, not sure if it's past 24 hours though.

That's kind of my point, we're just looking at it in different ways. Yes the plant is destined to die, I'm just looking at it like a quick chop = a quick death without stress (suffering), where depriving it of light is a slow stressful death.

If you've tried both ways and notice a difference then go with what you feel is best. Personally I've never found a dark period to have any effect on quality.

I got you now I see. No I have not tried it. I am going to. Will report findings here. I am a firm believer in the darkness however, I have good success with it. I have heard of light causeduty stress but never dark?
