Theres quite the debate on these boards about defoliating...the pros and cons both make sense but u might be at the perfect point in your grow to perform a little experiment.
My friend and i have found that removing alot of the big leaves helps the smaller buds catch up and if your not comfortable doing all of them id try defoliating half of em and seeing if a week or two helps those smaller buds catch up.
I heavily defoiled durring veg. It really created a even canopy and threw 40 tops on one plant alone. It really made them bush out. Then I kinda experimented by only defoiling half the plants durring flower. The defoiled ones deffinatly developed better buds thoughout the entire plant and at a much faster pace, seeing how much better the the defoiled ones looked made me end The experiment as i had to do them all. I had way too many leaves. Problem now is even my fan leaves are triched out so I really dont want to remove anymore. I really want to let them frost up for bho. There definitely is some lower buds that can use it though but im also too nervous it will stunt the top growth too much at this stage in flower. Not sure if I will do another defoil.

I hear ya
Alot of guys just cut the tips off to help the light penetrate better.
Some say it ruins the tops.
I never got to see how any of mine would finish if they kept their leaves because my partner is a prunaholic.
Luckily he keeps every leaf for bho and edibles.
I understand the hesitancy tho.
Either way tho those nugs are gonna be tasty.

Regarding Defoliating, go look up Raidermans grow journal, sadly he's no longer with us but he still has a lot to teach. He defoliated quite heavily and was left with baseball bats of bud in soil quite consistently. Don't take off too much at once, taking off a few of those bigger fans and the ladies won't even flinch.

As for your first grow, you're killing it dude. Good job well done keep it up looking absolutely marvelous.

Edit; something to keep in mind as well, not trying to scare you or anything lol, some strains can sometimes on occasion throw a nanner or two from not getting enough light. Usually on the very bottom of the plant where it wouldn't be worth trimming anyways generally.

Yeah, iv had that on the back of my mind. My canopy is about 5x4 and is very hard to look them all over. There is 6 plants in the tub but the two in the middle got overcrowded and barely grew. I cant pull them because all the roots are tangled together. They barely get light. I am nervous about them. They are pointless and wont yeild anything.

When u harvest the rest leave those small ones for an extra week or two they arent lost yet.
If it were my op id take every leaf off of the big ones that i could and them only harvest those ones.

Besides those big ones look like they should be nice enough anything else u can get out i would consider a bonus prize lol

Good luck man

You will know better than anyone else.
I would say those smaller ones might need 2 weeks of actually catching some light.
When u planning to harvest the rest?

The two in the middle just have the hairs but have not formed buds. I spread the canopy open more today to let a little more light in. Also I have two L.A cheese in the middle and 1 on the outside. Even the L.A cheese on the outside looks good but not even close to the crystal strains I have next to it. I think they are a slower flowering plant which concerns me a little while flushing as I do think they will need an extra 2 to 3 weeks. Im not sure when the others will be ready for harvest yet. They are only 5 weeks in and say to be an 8 to 10 weeks strain.
