I did it!...

First we had to cut a hole in the wall. Luckily we cut the wall without spray foam.. that was luck..

The wire we used was a two gauge, three wire and insulated... $7 a foot. We bought 20 foot, only used about 18'.

it was a little bit of hack job. First we tried to feed the wire through two 2x4's and a 3/4" piece of plywood, hit a screw a said fuck it.

So we had to come out about 8" but it worked. Im going to clean it up with sheet rock and a rebel flag

So once you know you got the right wire "remember 2 gauge 3 wire" which seems a little confusing because there is actually 4 wires. Red and black are hot! These are the wires with electricity that will kill you if you do not know what your doing. The white is the neutral and the bare copper wire is the ground

The thick ass white wire is the neutral it was too thick to fit in neutral bar so basically we had to reduce it by cutting strands out of the wire to get it to fit. This sould not be done. We only did it because when you run 240v you dont need a neutral, and since we will only be running 6 to 8 amps max of 120v its fine.

So after finally getting a hole drilled through the floor, we fished the wire through. But the breaker is off. The wire has no power. We used a 1" paddle drill bit aka "whole saw" but the wire was closer to 1.250" so keep that in mind. It was a bitch to get through the hole.

So after this the electrician hooked up the sub panel temporary to show me how to wire it. he could not stress enough to tighten the wires as tight as possible. This costed me $400 dollars plus a bottle of Jack Daniels. That was just hooking up the sub panel and the cost of the wire... labor included, which that was the easy part.

The red and black wires are both hot, he said it didn't matter which side was which

This is where its gets crazy. We are running 240v, in 120v sockets. Not suggested because if you stick a alarm clock in a 240v socket, its going to be bad. But Im the only person that will ever be in this room and I built this SO I KNOW WHAT IS WHAT!

Ok next was the heavy duty 240v timer, we could only power 8-1k's with this timer so we will have to add another one at some point.
