Why haven't my seeds sprouted yet?

I had my seeds in a wet paper towel for about three days and the shell cracked and the roots came out of both seeds then I put them in soil and have them under like 3 13 watt cfls 2 26 watts and 4 14 watts and they have been in the closet with the lights on 24/0 and they've been in there for about 4-5 days I've been checking if the soil is moist and everyday when I check its always dry so I water them.. Are my seeds ok or should they have sprouted by now ? I moved the fan closer to try and keep it alil cooler

Doesn't sound good ,I think you may have lost them
It looks like they may be too wet and too warm...
You didn't need to put them under 24 hrs of light yet.
You should have let them pop out of their shell all the way while still in the paper towel....

...then you transplant to your soil.Plant the seedlings root all the down to the cotyledons(baby leaves).

I then put another cup on top to make a small humidity dome
I'll leave the cup on top until the three fingered leaves grow out,giving it a little spray of distilled water everyday till then.

Don't give up on your seeds just yet though,I would use just one light bulb on 12/12...but even that's not necessary until it pops out of the soil.Good Luck

Thanks a bunch dude I'm gonna turn off a lot of the lights.. What else do u think I should do to help them? Cuz when I watered them some soil uncovered the seeds and the root was bigger then it was when I put it in the soil .. But I covered it back wit a small layer of soil ..

No problem...I was just germing and putting a few in soil,so I thought I'd share.
That's about all you can do...just make sure they're not soaking in wet soil.It needs to be damp,too wet, too warm and the root tip will rot....and temps for germination need to be warm,slightly above room temps 78-85f.

I just gently took them out if the soil to c what they look like to c if they've grown do they look dead to u?

i would wrap up that bottle with black paper or something roots dont really like light
