Aussie outdoor guerilla 14/15

Ok ill be doing an outdoor guerilla grow this year pretty deep down an old fire trail. The spot has a water source, and gets roughly 8 hrs direct light a day already. Gonna be fuckloads of water carrying in summer! Doing approx. 30 seeds of 4 different regular strains, these being:
10x master kush
10x white ice
10x hollands hope
3x white widow
The ten packs are all decent seeds bought from white label seed co. and the 3 white widow were from some bud I bought in Amsterdam. Apparently hollands hope goes pretty hard outdoors so im keen as fuck to see how they go. Managed to get all 33 planted a few weeks ago in small 5"x5"x6" pots of seed raising mix/vermiculite/perlite/peatmoss. Built a small cage around it as well to keep animals and stuff out. Been 2 weeks now, watering every 2nd day, and theres 27 sprouted so thats still gonna be plenty of work! This is only my 2nd year growing, so ive got plenty to learn from you lot heres a couple of pics so far, and a pic of one of last years plants. Plan on updating this once a week once they start to progress abit. Yeww peace

Got the house to myself for a few weeks so decided to temporarily move a few from the bush to around the pool @ home where I can keep an eye on them. Should give me a good indication of how the rest are going out at the plot too. Suns been smashing them with 23 degrees each day for the past week Everything seemed fine at the plot until I started walking back and noticed a fucking fresh pink ribbon tied to a treebranch like 20m from the entrance to my patch! No sign of any interference at the patch though so can only assume/hope its national parks doing abit of clearing of the main track in prep for summer fires. Fingers crossed! Ill keep ya updated anyway with some pics to come.

Just had some rain, so wont have to water them for another few days Besides that its been consistent sunny days. So far so good

Parents arrive home today so had to move them back out to the bush. Starting to see the third set of leaves come through on a few, the white ice is lagging abit but still doing ok. Had a pretty hot spell this week @ 28-30deg each day pretty stoked.

Cheers man, although I still need to dig over 20 solid holes, and get the perimeter fenced off etc so still plenty more work ahead. Love it but
Thinking about even setting up a small pump and irrigation running from the water source as im gonna need a fair fucken lot, and bucket bombing waterjugs for hours in the hot bush is definitely not gonna be fun. See how we go anyway..

As long as youre smart about it, youll be fine man. Although ide strongly recommend getting a filter if your house smells like dank, you can even build one yourself pretty cheap?
Why not try an outdoor grow this season? its not too late..really fun too, depends weather you like the outdoors i guess.
Speaking of which, saw a nice diamond python on the way to my spot the other day and took a photo. Must have been easy 6ft

Anyway, little update from today..

The forecast here for the next few days is saying strong winds and heavy rain up to 50mm overnight! So decided to head out to the spot this morning with a big piece of clear plastic and sort of make a little greenhouse/cover over the top. Didnt wanna risk it. Hopefully its enough to protect them all from this bad weather, while still letting the light in.
All the plants were looking healthy too; the master kush taking off abit quicker than the rest.
Also topped up each pot with another inch of mix, which should make the stems a little more sturdy im hoping. Photos -
Spewing the tarp didnt fully cover it to the bottom, should be sweet though i think. Weighed the corners down with a few rocks too which should help keep it from blowing away.
Side view, total of 25 all up with 1 random white widow in there somewhere, just too early to tell which one.

We survived the storm, much to my relief There was one pot slightly tipped over but it was resting against another so no harm done.
The recent downpour topped up my water source as well, making it a little easier to access.
Looks like we're in for another week of sunshine and mid 20's too I fucking love spring!

Far side in the white pots is the white ice; a little concerned at how slow this strain is growing compared to the Master Kush and HH, clearly seen in the photo. Heaps smaller leaves and also looking a bit pale?
Anyway I gave them all a squirt with some half dose powerfeed to try give em some colour, but yeah not doing as well as expected. Internet tells me its better suited indoors learnt a lesson with that one..


Hollands Hope above, starting to already have a real nice scent about it smells great ay. Really looking forward to seeing these all grown up!


This is where I get my water from, situated roughly 1m below the level of my patch. Gonna bring some 20L waterjugs down once everythings in the ground to save doing bulk trips with a fucking 2L waterbottle.
At first I didn't want to use this water thinking it would be stagnant or the Ph really low, but its a stable 6.5
Hopefully once they start to get solid the roots will reach down far enough to the water bed too.

One thing im abit unsure of is the size of the pots. Do you think theyre too small? I cant see roots coming through the bottoms but each plant looks slightly "stretched" and thin profiled.
Also is it a good idea feeding them liquid nutes yet mixed with my water? They've had a few foliar feeds in the past 2 weeks with a light mix of powerfeed but thats it.

Had to water again today, everythings still alive and well Will be prepping the plot later this week once I get more soil and fencing etc. Planning on filling rows of small holes (approx 50x50x50cm ea) with a mix of potting soil, compost, vermiculite, perlite & lime with water crystals at the bottom. Bought some gogo juice as well to get the roots going before transplant. Using napthalene (moth balls) as a deterent for kangaroos and possums etc. Tried this last year with really good results. Cheap, easy, and effective. I even put big fake snake at the edge of last years patch to try scare off any smaller pests ahah.
As for fencing, theres a few trees conveniently positioned around the perimeter of the plot that im gonna wrap a few runs of wire around; One at shin, waist and chest height then completely surround that with either green chicken wire, or roofing safety mesh (think its cheaper). No cunts getting in ahah.

Been real hot lately, 30 today and yesterday! Think I might have left it a day too long to water, they looked pretty thirsty this time around.

Transplanting today as temps have dropped alot overnight Should have about half of them in ground by this arvo.
I know ive left it too late, as some of the taller ones are root bound, just havent had the $$$ for everything until today, FINALLY!

Quick update - Managed to get 5 in the ground so far, with the remaining 20 odd still in the cage until i can afford more supplies. Could only take out a small fold up spade that was pretty flimsy, bent heaps when I hit tree roots and shit. Just made it hard for myself. Gonna drop off a decent shovel tomorrow so I can actually make some good progress.

Pretty much just dug small holes and lined them with those soft material shopping bags (cost 50c each) with a few holes punched out the bottom, then filled almost to the top with medium. Put little chcken wire cages wrapped around each one for now until I get that fencing sorted. Probably only 10 - 15L to each bag so doubt these plants will grow into monsters. 4-6ft by harvest and ill be frothing

Anyway I watered everything, checking em all out closely and found 2 males, so destroyed those fuckers asap, and transplanted 5 others that were clearly females. Hate males but i guess its better to know sooner than later ay

Layout so far, another one dug inside the square fence too with the rest of the pots. Was thinking/concerned about how noticeable this would be from above? We dont have fly overs here (to my knowledge anyway) so THINK it should be ok..


Hollands Hope again, regret using black for the bags but its done now. Doesn't blend in well with the surroundings..Those round chicken wire cages will come off once the whole perimeter is properly fenced too. Bit of mulch on top and a good watering and done for the day.

Meant to be pretty hot today so went for a visit early this morning and watered everything. Gave em a weak mix of powerfeed and epsom salts.
Also ripped 3 more males. Leaves me with about 15 total that havent sexed yet, and the remaining 5 or 6 females
Photos of both fem and male plants (think the fem is the random white widow I had mixed in there, doesnt look anything like the others).

Left a waterbottle upside down slow dripping around the stem, trying to "extend" each watering. If it works well ill be doing this for each plant to reduce visits to the patch.
Going out in the morning to water before the sun starts to kick in too, till then.

Update:

Pretty good little visit today. Evicted another male from the mix, planted 4 females in the ground (25L bags), AND put up a fence around the entire plot. Seems pretty sturdy as well, just bought a 50m roll of roofing mesh (about $80) so alot cheaper than proper garden fencing from bunnings ($150+ for the same shit) and ran it around the perimeter around trees, leaving a little gate/door for access obviously. Had a mate help me out since the roll weighed about 40kg and is 1.8m high. Should keep those motherfucking kangas out unlike last year.
Still very little progress with the White Ice, its been almost 2 months since seeds popped too! Patience
The rest was green and healthy though
Had some recent rainfall which boosted them up abit.
I spread some granular slow release fert through each hole and gave them a solid watering, then weaved some branches and twigs etc through the fencing which helped camo it alot more.
Also elastic banded a piece of fine flyscreen over each hole of my water jug to filter the water when filling it up, which seemed to work pretty well too.
Its so peaceful out at the patch i didnt want to go home haha. Saw a school of black cockatoos up close just chillen near the patch too which was pretty cool.
Bought a cold longneck with me and just kicked back till dark. Was nice Might bring the billy next time haha.

Been away for the weekend so I went to water this afternoon and see how everything was doing. Plenty of nice dark leaves starting to come through since last visit, looks like that fert has done the trick Found another male too so he got the knife.
Back there tomorrow for more digging, to hopefully get everything in the ground and out of those tiny pots I started them all in. Poor prep on my part, just didnt have the cash!
