I've heard that theory, however, there isn't a single resource on this rock that can't be found easier, and in greater quantities, elsewhere in the cosmos. Hell, there's probably asteroid fields around every star in the cosmos, and those asteroids contain the same shit that can be found on any given planet, and it would be MUCH easier harvesting resources from them than a planet. No gravity to deal with, no hostile life forms, no adverse weather conditions.

The only "unique" thing about our rock compared to all the others seems to be the life that occupies it, as far as we know, so I'd imagine their interests are focused around the life, as opposed to simply the resources.

Who knows.
I agree with everything here except "I'd imagine their interests are focused around the life, as opposed to simply the resources."

I don't think any intelligent life outside our solar system has both the knowledge of our existence and the means to visit us.

If they had both the knowledge and means, why would they be so sloppy in their attempts to conceal themselves if that was their desire? It doesn't add up for me.

Considering the wide variety of alien vehicles observed throughout history, I'd imagine that these visitations are being conducted by a wide variety of individuals, if not species. Different individuals, different species, different protocols. Some being covert, some overt, others a little bit of both.

Hell, talk to biologists today about how best to observe a species and you'll get a wide variety of different approaches.

I can't think of a single UFO sighting that has been removed from the Unidentified status and placed under Alien.

Adding a larger number of individuals and species and attitudes only weakens your stance. That would mean there is a much higher chance that at least one of these aliens would make contact with more than just 1 crazy hillbilly at a time.

Really, the most likely explanation I can think of to support your side was written by Douglas Adams. Maybe these strange visits are in fact just rich alien kids who stole their parents' ship and are out fucking with other aliens who are less advanced.

There are creatures that live at the bottom of our oceans that never travel to the surface. Some of them are yet to be discovered. What if there is an intelligent life form at the bottom of the Sea? We have used unmanned submarines to explore the oceans floors, but we still have a lot of ground to cover. What if, during one of these explorations, we passed by intelligent life. Do you think they are now down there wondering WTF?

Now apply this to the universe.

Crop circles made by humans, think again...

"But seriously, check out these little knots. You've got to have some serious skill to do all that, unless of course you are an alien and you can use your magnetic forces generated by the mother ship to do this"

I'll admit it, I laughed so hard I farted.

I see where you are going, but how could they not recognize our intelligence? I mean, we've got satellites n shit! That's a pretty big deal.

If they've never seen "satellites n shit," how would they know "satellites n shit" is an indication of intelligence? Or that "we" made those?
