felt like bumping this thread, I coulda used this info a lil while ago, maybe someone else can benefit from this.
Hey Grease! Be careful with Alfalfa seeds. They can be a little strong, as well as mustard seeds. Use your common sense. I love sunflower seeds, and I have no problem putting like 1/2-1c in 5-6 gallons of water. (alfalfa I do like 2 tbsp per 5 gallon and that can be potent)does anyone know if smaller seeds would be more effective for sst's? i'm using raw sunflower seeds and wondering if smaller seeds (more sprouts?) would be more effective?
also, how much is too much? For example if I put like ten cups of seeds in there would that be better than just a couple handfuls?
I think we need a sticky for SST's, I've searched a bunch and the search engine for this site is a lil crappy...
that actually kinda answered my next question, as I have a buuunch of seeds (cannabis) that I won't use (failed genetic experiment), anyways, I was thinking how cool would that be to have a sprouted seed tea full of it's own evolved mix of hormones, enzymes and so on, I mean after all, millions of years have evolved the seed to contain exactly what it needs to grow, maybe specifically for cannabis, and who knows if perhaps the pot-seeds in a sprouted tea, may have some special recipe for marijuana problems, sorta like stem-cells... ok failed analogy? you know what i'm getting at though, right? Sunflower-seed enzymes and hormones may be tailor made for sunflower plants, alfalfa tailor made for alfalfa, and maybe the same goes with pot seeds. I'm just throwing this out there... I do admit I am guilty of hyper-analyzing things.... perhaps too much. Now I gotta do some experimenting....Hey Grease! Be careful with Alfalfa seeds. I have not seen any research out there on which seeds produce the most of what. My understanding is all seeds work great, alfalfa can be especially good the first week or two of flowering to help internodal spacing. Barley, wheat, corn, fenugreek, cannabis lol, they all work.
I love the simplicity and efficacy of these 'teas'.
Peace!
