Probably a retarded idea, but here goes anyway:
For those of us growing in an urban dwelling where effective odour control is essential, would a grow tent within another tent be a viable option? I.E. A regular setup, complete with carbon filter etc. (say a 4x8 tent) in turn housed within a larger sized tent (say, 5x9 with increased height) that contained an additional carbon filter, either within the 2nd tent itself, or indeed exhausting from it. Although I suspect exhausting from an outer tent might cause all sorts of air-flow problems for the inner grow room, so perhaps just running a filter within that outer tent would be the way to go..? Would this not, in theory, create a lot less odour escape when entering/ leaving the grow tent? Would it not also create a generally more contained environment for odour treatment as a whole?
I can see why this might be a bad idea for those running hot lighting systems and needing to vent away lots of heat, but for growers in cooler climates, who're using LED lighting, what would the downside be, except the obvious initial extra cost? Also, the outer tent could presumably be one of inferior quality to the one chosen for housing the treasured babies, as it's function would be far simpler (perhaps also a decent place to keep a germination chamber, or even some plants at veg' stage, with different lighting needs come to think of it).
I'm not arrogant enough to believe I'm the 1st person to come up with the idea at the embryo stages of planning my first ever setup, while others have been at it literally for decades and I'm sure there's a good reason why this is a really stupid idea! So would someone with more brain cells than me please be kind enough to tell me why this is not a good idea? THANKS!
