How long did you dry them for, and do you know the temp or humidity level of the drying room? You may have not dried them long enough, but that's an easy problem to fix if you haven't seen any mold yet.
Yes, they should get moist after you first put them in the jar. If you don't own and can't buy a hygrometer (Relative Humidity meter), just dump the buds in paper bag overnight, fold over once, and check them in the morning. Be sure to carefully separate the buds that are sticking together without handling them too much. When they're dry again, you can put them back in the jars. Check them 2 - 3 times a day and put them back in the paper bag for 8 hours ONLY IF YOU NOTICE THEY ARE STILL MOIST.
Once they dry and firm up, just burp the jars a couple times a day for a week, then burp once daily for another week and you should be good to go. You'll know the buds are staying dry in the jars when you spin them gently, you can hear them 'rattling around' in the jar. Moist buds won't make any sound, and you should be able to feel that the are still soft. If so, back to the paper bag.
You can buy cheap hygrometers at your local pet store for under $8. If you're worried they'll ask why you need one, they're sold to measure humidity in reptile tanks.
