First time online seed buyer from Dutchbreed via Fedex, expensive?

So I JUST sent out my cash to Dutchbreed for 10 seeds through Fedex. I live on the west coast of the US and was curious if I paid to much to ship it/send it. It cost me $50 to ship a small envelope to the U.K. Did I pay too much? Is that common? How much does it cost via USPS? I am assuming it is safer via Fedex, but there is nothing revealing in the envelope anyway. So anyway... whats everyone else's experiences for cost for sending?

I paid around 45 to overnight my payment to canada via fedex. However, it took two nights to get there but luckily the seedbank processed and shipped the day it arrived (arrived at 11:00 on friday and i paid on wednesday).
