great answer....I have c99 as a staple in my room. every 55 -60 days I can pull a harvest from the c99.. what you need is a more cbd strain.. I am starting a royal queen seed euphoria for my girl.. I will keep it on a journal and you can see for yourself.. BUT c99 from female seeds is and will finish faster then any other sativa/indica strain.. will make your room smell like a fruit stand, very good flavor and tatse.. frosty and makes great hash..
The mosca is quite good. Haven't ran the female seeds version.Wonder how the mosca c99 bx1 stacks up against the females seeds version. Have a pack sitting around but keep hearing about female seeds being the go...Anyone run both?
I was dabbed the fuck out last night. I came to a moment of realization(this always seems to happen when my system is saturated). It's just another bullshit fucking ploy for market control. Kind of like fem seeds. From what I can tell it's not very common for auto breeders to sell regs. It's mostly fems yes? I could be wrong but pollen/genetic hoarding is nothing new. Not only that you cannot clone an auto and it's also not uncommon for auto seeds to be $10 per or more. Hmm sounds like a good money maker.Mosca C99 is a BX. I don't see how it could be more like the Bros Grimm version than almost any other version out there which are exclusively from Bros Grimm stock?
Autos are also inferior to regs. This isn't black and white as different lines do different things and I'm sure regular flowering hemp would be worse than autos, but if you're talking the same gene pool and you have an auto version vs a reg version, the auto will be lower quality - might have some other benefits for some growers (ie: outdoors) but the plant will not be as nice smoke. Even breeders of autos who do both reg and autos will tell you this.
They are improving but it's a very very long process as doing it right requires millions of plants (and so therefore it's really a community effort that's haphazard at best - C99 is a good story of something similar, a great haze like plant in 7 weeks - it took a lot of years for plants like this to be found and bred by folks though). Also, maintaining auto lines is a different beast as well.
The fact you can't keep winners around for a long time really sucks too.
Oh I see how he did it now. I recalled reading somewhere he used something other than C99 for one of the plants but I guess not.Yeah C99 was worked pretty well. I've enjoyed its smoked and it's on my list to grow.
I think bx is a misnomer for the descriptor for C99. Really it would be inbred as its not out crossed to any other strain.
Fems are actually closer to 3/4 depending on how they are done. XX XY - you don't get the Y and sometimes the X from the male doesn't come through but usually it does. Anyway the general practices of breeders and seed makers isn't so great for the gene pool, I agree.I was dabbed the fuck out last night. Just another way for the greedy bastards to squeeze out extra dollars while watering down the gene pool. Maybe I am a conspiracy theorist but in 20 years who know how badly the general cannabis genetic population has been infected with inferior genetics. I'm already against fem seeds any any breeder who sells exclusively fems. I will not pay extra for half the genetics.
If you think about it aren't they already getting enough from their seeds? 3-4k seeds in a kg or lb? Do the math seeds are worth way more than smokable flowers.
I second this, I had a freebie and it yielded 4 oz of the thickest buds.Sugar Black Rose from Delicious Seeds, done in 59 days. Very tasty smoke, helps my step dad with pain.
Lack of preservation, many breeders doing only 1:1 crosses etc. You just cited a pretty good example of how it's happening. Good luck finding RKS for example. How is the gene pool being ruined? The only problem I've ever noticed is the loss of great highs in exchange for bag appeal
