First time grower...Tent, Hydro, LED/CFL combo. Thanks for any advice.

200x3w LED. Even driven at half mast, you'd think there'd be enough flower power :) any failings more noticable around the perimeter buds.

The pale newer growth (first pic, maybe not, reproducing colours sometimes aren't accurate) though, whats with that. I'll get my wings fried diagnosing Hydro deficiency (and ppm/ec wont mean much without being familiar with the product) but i'd be thinking also a tad low on nutes/nitrogen?

Right, typical Chinese marketing. The "600w" panel is pulling around 350W, still a lot of light for a 2'9" x 2'9" footprint. But it's not just about watts, it's about spectrum beneficial and usable to the plants. This is a MARS light from Top Led, I have a bunch of their reflector panels which I now use for clones/seeds/veg. Those reflector panels veg great, but in flowering they lack spectrum/colours, why I stopped using them for flowering.
 
Sounds like the first LEDs I bought from lighthouse hydro, just lacked on the intensity/spectrum. Too much blue for flowering for my liking, makes buds too larfy and fluffy. From my experience the best LEDs use only reds and whites for flowering or just whites. And just for anyone that want's to know Lighthouse hydro does the same thing, their 240w light only pulls 135w of actual power to the wall. I know cause I tested with my kill-a-watt meter.

well, I am just gonna let it play out. All the additional lights I have are used for the veg room. I will definitely need to get a different LED panel.
 
I would recommend an area 51 light, they are great lights for the price you can get one to fill that space nicely.

Yeah, you're close in space for one of those CMH lights in there. Only problem is with being a tent you probably wouldn't have the height with exhausts and filters in the way. Plus you're in Cali and probably have to deal with high outside temps for a good part of the year. You're better off to look at saving up for an A51 panel when you can swing it, 2x RW-150's would grow some nice bud in there.

how much are the rw-150's do you reckon?
 
Looking better, buds are finally opening up a bit. Those RW's aren't cheap but from what I've seen they can grow good sized and dense bud. In the meantime, consider some Cree LED bulbs or CFL's in the 2700k range, the additional light and mixed spectrum will improve your flowering times imo.
