Man-made global warming is a lie and not backed up by science, claims leading meteorologist.

The only major fail is you.

We've been over this. The ocean has a mean depth of 2.65 miles and the top 1.24 miles have heated drastically. By volume, that is most of the water. You're acting like it is a silver bullet but it just highlights your stupidity yet again.
You're right, we have been over this, you just refuse to see anything that flies in the face of the alarmists claims.
We've already established that global temperatures have not risen in 18 years and the deep oceans have not absorbed this mysterious missing warming. Both were cited from NASA itself.

So now it has to be the upper portion of the oceans that are hiding all this heat they can't find.
And it's heating up drastically, to use your word.

Why is Scripps institute of Oceanography saying otherwise?

Summary:
A new study contrasting ocean temperature readings of the 1870s with temperatures of the modern seas reveals an upward trend of global ocean warming spanning at least 100 years. The research shows a .33-degree Celsius (.59-degree Fahrenheit) average increase in the upper portions of the ocean to 700 meters (2,300 feet) depth. Modern data is derived from the international Argo program.http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2012/04/120401135345.htm

So just over 1/2 degree fahrenheit in over 100 years is drastic to you?
Drastic enough to have the government tax the living hell out of businesses and people when there is absolutely no proof that warming will be catastrophic to the earth or that man can even fix it if he wanted to?

You've asked for reliable evidence that supports global warming may not be caused by man, where is your next argument going, where did the missing heat go if it's not in the oceans or surface temps?

beenthere has convinced me. i have seen the the light of the neon corona sign and been converted.

let's say that human activities have ratcheted up CO2 to levels not seen in 800,000 years, but that this has nothing to do with the increase in global temps.

would jesus, god's only son on earth, support taxing the living hell out of business anyway?

i think jesus would support taxing the living hell out of business.

what about you, beenthere?

what do you think jesus would urge you to do if he were here right now?

i don't think you have to look too far to know that he loves you this much.

yes

Averages conceal extremes. It's the early and high extremes which in a single year melt vast amounts of multiyear Arctic pack ice and kill centuries of coral growth, both of which accelerate the feedback loop.

science provides evidence, not proof. science can't prove a damn thing.

but thanks for demonstrating your lack of understanding.
Science can very well provide PROOF, I never said I wanted science to PROVE it.
You don't even know what proof is do you?

proof

noun
1.evidence sufficient to establish a thing as true, or to produce belief in its truth.
2.anything serving as such evidence:What proof do you have?
3.the act of testing or making trial of anything; test; trial:to put a thing to the proof.
4.the establishment of the truth of anything; demonstration.
5.Law. (in judicial proceedings) evidence having probative weight.
6.the effect of evidence in convincing the mind.
7.an arithmetical operation serving to check the correctness of a calculation.

When I saw this thread I just knew Uncle Buck would be here to refute this and claim that global warming is for real. Sunspots and volcanic activity dwarf anything man can do by magnitudes. Global warming is a scam to create an international tax on the sheeple. Also a way for world government to ooze their slimy tentacles into power.

Are you saying that melting Arctic ice pack directly influences coral growth and is a closed path of the same system? To be honest, I didn't know there was deep water coral in the Arctic.

And this is isn't a natural occurrence that's happen in the past?

I notice you keep referencing the Arctic.
Is global warming only happening in the northern hemisphere?

if jesus were to come back today, beenthere, what do you think he would have to say about your callous attitude towards your fellow brothers, especially the poor and vulnerable to whom you show the least amount of empathy?

Is this the part where you provoke me and wait for your favorite mod to come to your rescue if I fire back?
Oh the scary thought of him leaving you to fight your own battles?

jesus fucking christ, beenthere.

i just want to know what YOU think would happen if jesus came back today.

and yes, i know it's you beenthere. i literally have a picture of you standing in front of the neon corona sign. i've also seen the massive pet piss stains on your apartment's carpet. i don't think you'll be getting that deposit back.

so tell me, if jesus came back today, do you think he'd like what you have to say about how to treat the most vulnerable and poor among us?

Hey why don't you, Bucky and Jabby show us how to calculate the energy required to raise the ocean temps by half a deg and do the same for the arctic melt. Use that info to support you theoretical models for climate change. Show your work; no credit for cut and paste.

I just want to know if you think it's a personal victory for you to have a mod fight your battles?
Now knowing how much this forum is such a big part of your life, I'm starting to feel bad I've been so critical of you and your legacy.

ever since your best friend greatwhitenorth made it clear that calling people 'snitches' is perfectly acceptable, i have not reported a single post. those snitch posts of yours were the only ones i was reporting anyway.

anything the mods have done in the last few days have been solely based on their own judgment with no input from me.

can you do a voice over for my gay rights group?

I know it's hard for you to believe, but I'm serious, I didn't realize this forum was a big part of you life.
All the times you called me racist, a white supremacist, and beenthere, I honestly thought is was just being in character of your internet persona.
I had no idea you take all this so serious and personal.

let's see.

1386 million cubic kilometers of water in the ocean. 1386 x 1,000,000 = 1,386,000,000

264 billion gallons per cubic kilometer of water. 1,000,000,000 x 264 = 264,000,000,000

1,386,000,000 x 264,000,000,000 = 365,904,000,000,000,000,000 gallons of water in the ocean.

1 BTU is the amount of energy it takes to raise one pound of water by one degree.

365,904,000,000,000,000,000 x 8.34 = 3,051,639,360,000,000,000,000 pounds of water.

can i just divide by two here? or does the BTU work on some sort of parabolic curve? like it slowly starts warming at first, and then gets to the end by warming more and more rapidly?

save me, @heckler73 !

did i ever call you a white supremacist? i think i just pointed out that you cite white supremacist jared taylor.

but yes, you are indeed quite the racist, and yes, you are beenthere.

i would post the proof but it would totally out you. i did send it to you in PM so you can no longer deny it.

We all cite copy and paste stuff we barely understand, I'll admit it.
But nobody is going to convince me that the debate is settled, there is no proof that man is causing or not causing climate change, I've seen plenty of evidence to support both.
It's not the science that i have a problem with.

It's when I see the government, the media and especially politicians pushing an agenda this hard, I have a natural defense that tells me to question it. I don't trust any of them as far as I could throw them.
If this is a political scam, it's brilliant. They'll have the power to tax us all any time the weather dictates it.
