Ways to turn trichomes to amber ?

Yes - shorten your light period to 6hrs and keep the dark period at 12hrs

That would basically halt resin production altogether.

I will have to dig for the paper, but its been proven anything under 8 hours of light is detrimental to resin production. Going from 12/12 to 10/14 can decrease resin production by up to 20%...

That's if your you want them to ripen faster just give them less light or before you chop just leave them in darkness for a couple of days

I've personally had great success with the following product and highly recommend it:

Why did he ask his question then?
because he cant wait to smoke smoke smoke. at least i think so, he didn't say. unless he wants it to look better than it is so he can rip a med. patient off in witch case i wouldnt help. even if there was a way to do it.

I've read more than one comment that the use of UVB lights should be stopped after mid flower because it can cause trics to amber too quickly. Maybe that's the way to go. And, they're believed to increase resin production, unlike reducing the light period. A double win.

THC breaks down in UV light, so even if you are making them amber faster, you are just being counterproductive to trying to grow something to get high...

Not saying you don't need UV light to grow buds, you do. Just saying if you are going overboard and you are using the UV rays to nuke the trichomes, you are basically killing what you are trying to harvest, the THC.

i use a uv light for my clones, but if i leave it on them to long the leaves start to turn color.

THC breaks down in UV light,

I thought that's what happens when trics turn amber, and why some people prefer to harvest sooner for higher THC content and more of a head high. If that's true, running UVB in late flower sounds like it would have that effect.

Whether it's desireable or not is another question. But, if he wants amber trics faster (and what that does to THC), it sounds like UVB late in flower would do that.

If he is trying to get them amber, they aren't late in flower. Otherwise he would wait the week.

If they are early and still clear, they haven't even produced the THC needed to degrade yet anyways. You don't get D9THC until the trichomes start turning milky. Which would be close to late flower anyways.
