I just checked the specifics: couldn't find what worms were used. But it's a 1-0-0, so kinda light npk wise. The company used rabbit manure and Alfalfa meal for the worm food. You can probably find better/stronger but it was organic and in a small enough of an increment to last until my worm bin is ready for harvesting.

or you can just make a compost bin and order the worm species and do it like that saves bunches of money and like no space at all.

I do have a bin. It failed when I moved recently and I didn't want to wait to harvest them, so I ordered them.

Like use just coir to grow in or just for the base mix?

I have been considering a base made with 25% coir, 20% compost, 20% leaf mold, 15% cattle manure, 15% worm castings and 5% oyster shell. What could be a better humus-rich base than that?

I like this. I Am trying about the same thing but at,
1gl forest mould,
1.5gl sand,
1gl clay,
3gl hot composted saw dust manure, and
1gl pure cow manure.
Which makes a cubic foot and I Am adding Rich Earth Humate at 5 cups per cubic foot and that's pretty much it... I will amend later with kelp and others as needed.

Going to add like .5-1gl of ash too... Unless that's too much?

That book is pretty good. Been a fan of the rev for some time. I've never had the balls to do the whole spikes and layers thing though.

Yea he likes to use a steer manure/coir/greensand/perlite blend as a bottom layer and does spikes with blends of different amendments. Seems too tedious for my style. His tea recipes are pretty intense too.

As far as i know he just recycles and re-amends in large totes. Not sure if he got into the no-till game.
