I'm no hydro expert dude, but a few points....

It is expensive! You can make one really cheap, go look in hydro section, or in the faq section.

Althought they advertise it as a "236 site". You'll also notice that they say "Use this model to propagate cuttings or to quick-start seeds in a small footprint area."

For vegging & flowerig though, I think you'll find that it holds somewhere in the neighborhood of...3 to 4 plants at most, in fact, the more I think about it....more like 1 or 2. $260.00 ouch!

Go down and grab some 3 or 5 gallon buckets and make a system. Or better yet, some of those rubber maid baskets.
Peace

Ok...I think I will go the rubbermaid route. You guys are right...thats a little expensive when it can be a DIY project. Now, if I use these rubbermaid containers, which should hold 2 - 4 plants and I want to grow about 20 plants, how many lights will I need, considering the plants will not be bunched close together?

i just purchased the 2 rainforest 318 models right like 2 minutes ago, i wanted to build a scrog over it with maybe 1 foot tall max by the end (as i only have about 3 feet of vert space), as i have unlimited clones i was going to put them straight into 12/12 as soon as planted, would this by possible? Oh yeah, i use the pioneer 432 watt t5 with vhos for light. hopefully i didnt just waste a grand.

a small update on this, i found the rainforest extremely usefull as a transition stage. I can vedge in this till plants are 6-8 inches tall then transplant into another hydro system (i use the hydrofarm and aeroflo2 by gh both in 12/12 rooms), as far as my original plan of growing in these, pointless.

I have 6 Rain Forest 236 for clones and hands down it is the best machine I have ever used for this. What i like about it is no need for extra air pumps, the head oxygenates the water when in use. No leaks!!! and it all fit in around a 4x4 location. I started with 1 unit and with in 3 weeks doing clones it payed for it self, so I bought another one and it just steamed rolled into what I have now.

I also have 2 Rain Forest 66 for my Bloom room and have never had any problems with it. I plan on adding 2 more 66 at the end of this month.

Veg 12 lamp T8HO with specular reflectors and 2 sun systems 600 watt HPS
