How would you invest $11k for purpose of growing?

I thought I was settled on a supercloset system, but I'm wondering if $ could be spent more wisely. Can I accomplish this in a more cost effective way that would yield the same, if not more?

Goals (in no particular order): quality + quantity, perpetual system, scent-free (for the most part), economical (low power consuming), able to leave for 1-2 weeks max at a time (rare, but might be necessary at times).

I'm leaning towards:
*9x9 tent with RO filter, Kind 1000 LEDs, 24 DWC buckets, trellis, carbon filter etc..
*5x5 tent with T5s for vegging
*5x5 tent (or some other type of box) for drying (must have a carbon filter for odor control)

I'm fairly technical, not very mechanical and have a bum leg (terrible car wreck). Can somebody help fonzy out? lol

Are you doing this for fun? or for paper? If your doing for fun, great idea . If your doing it to make paper, start smaller until you figure it out. I'm assuming your kind of new because.. There is no such thing as a low power consuming grow that gets high yields.. If you want low power.. You grow outside lol. Next.. Specially being perpetual , there is no way you will be able to leave a grow for 1-2 weeks at a time. And even if there was a way to do that, there is to much bad shit that can happen. Indoor grows need to be checked minimum every 48 hours. Tents are ok to grow in if you don't want to build a box.. I suggest hps over led if your trying to get yields. 9x9 is awful small for an 11grand budget . How much weed are you trying to get?

I left my grow for 6 days once....never again. A smallish perpetual grow 10x9 requires a minimun of 30-60 minutes a day on light days and there is not enough time in the day on busy days. Hope you love working hard :) Before you drop 11k , why not try one plant. I love people that just throw money at shit and see if any of it sticks.

rent a cheap apartment with a 6 month lease-2400
buy 2 8x8 tents-600
4 600w lamaps and ballasts- 800
bring over plants/soil/pots that ive already got
and save the rest in case i cant cover the pge for whatever reason for like a month or 2
11k isnt a lot

Well I had to stop and think, and honestly, to have some fun learning while making paper and helping others. I enjoy the challenges of working with nature. I know this is a lot different than say teaching myself how to log, how to raise farm animals, setting up a CSA in one year all with only youtube videos... I'm not trying to brag, these aren't huge accomplishments, but demonstrate willingness to learn. Growing is something I really want to do. Money would be great- small scale farming only gets one by so much, and with my disability now it's more challenging working with animals etc.. But really, I want to do it for the same reason I started drinking raw milk I guess- because "they" said not to, and because after doing my own research, I know they're wrong. I personally met people whose children are normal again because their meds... I never used to believe, until I saw with my own eyes, the possibilities of this plant that carried such a huge stigma. my first grow was for some older neighbors who have painful conditions and were getting ripped off by their grower.. One asked me if i'd try, seeing I was really into permaculture and gardening. Then he told the other when I said yes. Before this happened, I had never even heard the term "CBD". Having built my own soil with basically poo, compost and woodchip gardening, I found it to be very easy- yes literally plant the clone and go from there using nothing more than the occasional "fish poo". At the time I'd heard of indoor growing, but didn't have time to really learn due to busy spring/summer, so they eventually had to find another grower but will return as my patients in summer '15. I want to max out my patients, be able to grow year round, I'd like a great yield that hopefully provides a 1 to 2 harvest ROI and a system that works. Thanks for your honest opinion and I hope for much more.

I started like you thinking it was going to be all roses and dollar signs. I dropped 20gs, my entire life savings . I told all my friends and family how I was making the best Investment of my life and going to help others get clean meds. I watched all sorts of videos and read on roll it up and thought I knew everything. I wanted to fucking drown myself 6 months in haha. I've watched my friends around me fail, cry, pack up and move home with there tail between their legs. It took me a year of never going out, selling my vehicle, eating top ramen, and doing nothing but focusing on the plant to turn my shit around . I tell people that say they want to start growing now.. This isn't 1996. Only the elite are going to be able to survive the hell were headed for with prices going in the shitter and electric on the rise. Take this good advise and find a new dream, you will thank me later.

if you are in it for the money you might as well find a connect and buy big and just sell smaller, youll make more money in a shorter amount of time than waiting for each crop. you can thank me for this later to

Sounds like the OP already has organic soil and growing knowledge, which should avoid the majority of the challenges. When someone with a chem grow posts a pic of a nutrient deficiency or toxicity I cannot help but cringe. We can hardly tell the difference! Better to trust in "nature". Put poo in the soil, let it rot, pound them with light, keep them watered and watch huge beautiful sticky buds grow :leaf:

O there is the downside of basically never leaving again, as long as you are OK with that no worries, LOL

For that investment you could make every room in your house into a grow room. Hell, I could convert a mid sized store into a grow room for 11k. (DIY everything) $10 per sqft for professional strength lighting done DIY.

apparently you don't know much. Because if you converted anything of size into a grow room.. 11k wouldn't even pay the electricity for the run. My dehumidifier for a large room was 2grand. I have 4 grand worth of air conditioners.. And I have a moderate size grow. Work on your math homie

Everyone's conditions are different, would be silly for me to pay for AC when it's below freezing outside. Same with dehumidifier. Also, didn't think you would include your electric bill in a question like that. Around here running in winter you need lights, containers, nutes, and vents. Lights $15 sqft, containers $2 sqft, nutes would be hard to calculate, vents $2.00 sqft, mylar cheap enough.

I may have exaggerated a bit, I could only do about 550 sqft no nutes or electricity included, just setting up the room.

This would be the way to go with no experience. At least if everything doesn't go as planned, you have some type of property to sell to make money back as opposed to throwing it all down the drain in rent (as long as you can make your payments on the land) plus less overhead, especially if you have decent to good natural soil in the area you are in. Plus outdoors, nature takes care of a lot of the beginner fuck ups that you would have indoors
