Root rot?

I'm using general hydroponics nutes and the water is kinda orange colored and cloudy but there is no rot smell on the roots

It looks like pythium to me too (root rot), unless it's slimy, then it's an algae caused mainly by light leaks. If it's root rot, you need a sterilizer or a beneficial bacteria. (but not both). A sterilizer would be like H2O2 and SM90. A beneficial would be like botanicare's Hydroguard. I recently had this issue, and decided to go with hydroguard. Cleared everything up and they are doing great!

Looks like rot. Get some more oxygen in that res(bigger air pump). Clean that rotten stuff off with water in a sprayer and get some beneficials in there. I use great white. Hydrozyme would help too. If you're going sterile, I would clean the reservoir use some peroxide diluted down to .3% in a spray bottle and get all of that brown stuff out of those roots. Rinse your sprayer well after, or it will mess up your sprayer eventually.

I just sprayed water on the roots and it all came off is that root rot?

Looks like the water level got too low and the root ends dried out. Sorry to come in so late in the thread. Never saw redorange roots unless they were dried out.
One other explanation is; If you used expanded clay, and did not rinse it thorughly before filling the net pot; It is possible that that is dust. And that si why you are able to rinse it off.

Just wash it off and clean your rez I had a 5 gallon bucket full of shitty slimy white shut when my air pump kicked off for two days I just washed that shit off cleaned Rez with bleach filled back up and still copped about 10 oz for her I do think it hurt my held tho just on stress but yea like dude said above if you used hydrotron I always boil mine for about 15 mins good luck

Roots are like fingers,they'll still perform if damaged,but they aren't repairing themselves...the plant grows New ones,which your pics show..you're on the right path,keep temps at 65ish,p.h. most 5.8,no light,lots of air,and a few drops of your favorite Bennie formula every other day,you're golden...

Aquashield is the old name for Botanicare's Hydroguard. Hydroguard is basically bacillus bacteria which out competes the bad bacteria (pythium)

Update:: So the plants have gotten a lot bigger and u can see how I am keeping light out of the res but I still have some brown roots. Also the last pic shows how the plant got burnt from the light. I have been out of town and explaining to a buddy how to take care of em
