Just listened to Fire on the Mountain by Grateful Dead. As far as I'm aware, this is the first time hearing this band. I very much prefer musicians who base their melodies and rhythms off of emotions to the fullest extent. Sounds like they do that. I like.

My best example of this is Jimmy Sullivan, the deceased drummer of Avenged Sevenfold. When I listen to his playing in Waking the Fallen and City of Evil, I can picture and feel every emotion in each chorus, bridge, beat, dynamic, etc. As is the rest of the band, but more so Jimmy.
I feel as though most mainstream crap lacks dynamics severely. By dynamics, I mean the expression of each note played/sang.

Listen to a live show..studio dead is for music dullards who listen to radio imo.
If you do listen to a Studio album, grab "workingmans dead"...

Henry Rollins , i never cared for the whole black flag thing but when Henry started publishing his spoken word albums like Black Coffee Blues i dug the shit outta him .

The song Liar by Rollins Band is the shit & the truest shit about taking advantage of a woman ive ever heard .

Never cared for the Dead & i saw em live ,except for the Wall Of Sound they used which was powered by 100 high end Mcintosh Amplifiers , after seeing fantastic musicians like the Mothers of Invention play Bach & other classical pieces , or the Mahavishnu Orchestra go into machine gun guitar blitzes it kinda woke me up to how lame musicianship most main stream artists had .

So covering Bach isn't lame?...
Don't get me wrong,Frank kicked ass,and peaches en regalia killed Bach.:-D
Frank had more talent in tuning up than Bach had playing..,and playing anything other than his songs was exactly that..a tune up :-D

Rollins Band
Low Self Opinion turned me into a Rollins fan
I like his tv show "ten things you didn't know" I think it's called..all his music is garage band hype at best imo...
Playing good music distorted and out of tune/synch isn't art,it's bad music, played badly.

have you ever seen his spoken word panhead?
i saw him at city gardens one year, and it was about 2 weeks after his friend joe cole was murdered right in front on him.. was one of the most emotional events i've ever witnessed.. i'm a huge rollins fan.. my buddy is born on 2/13 as well.. i dig a lot of his books, and his spoken word cds are great imvho..
i've met rollins twice, once at his spoken word show, he was walking around selling books before the gig, and once at rutgers before the beastie boys show.. he was off to the side off in the crowd getting ready for the show and i went over and bugged him a bit..

You lucky fuker , Henry is the shit , i have all his spoken word albums but never had the chance to see him perform live , music is a massive part of my life & way more important than tv or internet so i listen alot , nothing better than smoking out heavy & trying to keep up with the deep shit flowin outta Henry.

Pisses me off ive never got to see him live , saw all the 60's & 70's bands but music sucked so bad in the 80's i gave up on new acts & didnt discover Henrys spoken word till around 6 or 7 yrs ago .
