Thanks....I don't know -- probably about 8 inches give or take. I've been pruning the crap out of them for the last month so my little clones can catch up to them.

Here is some Earth Juice after brewing for 72 hours -- the ladies go bananas for it. Shout out to @Nullis for the great Earth Juice info -- if you haven't seen him around, read some of his posts -- he's easily one of the most intelligent cats here @ RIU.
When I first mixed this the ph was 3.8; it takes about 72 hours for it to reach 6.5. It doesn't go up at all until about 50 or so hours in but once it starts, it does so very rapidly. I can see the difference in the liquid itself once the ph starts to go up -- the foam becomes more creamy as opposed to chunky -- it almost reminds me of a milkshake or something. It's pretty neat to witness the transformation though.
I would cry if I pulled out airstones like this in DWC but with soil -- it's all gravy baby. That's the good stuff.

@dscj71 Man, I'd love to try an outdoor grow -- maybe 6-8 plants -- 100 gallon smart pots. Do you just put em in the ground or in pots? In the ol' veggie patch, right?[/QUO
In 5 Gal pots are great for outdoor. In San Diego Indicas start to flower in early July and Sativa s start to flower in August. To keep the plants short, Plant in early July.

Ok it's day 29 and a few things are starting to become obvious: 1. Earth Juice isn't going to produce the size and girth that I'm used to. That's OK though because it's basically what I expected. 2. The Earth Juice isn't allowing the ladies the same growth pattern that I'm used to. I prefer a little bit more of a stagger in height to maximize light penetration. This can be remedied next time by simply not topping as much. 3. The buds are much more rank than I'm used to this early in the process -- which is pretty cool. So in conclusion, overall I'm fairly happy with the way things are going -- I'm excited for the next 4 weeks.

So it's the beginning of a new chapter for me. Thanks to the help of @greasemonkeymann and @st0wandgrow -- a couple of awesome and extremely knowledgeable organic growers -- my next round of flowers are going to be grown in a fully organic water-only home-brewed soil mix. For the last few days I've been ordering certain ingredients that I need and foraging locally for everything else. I thought I had scored some cheap compost from craigslist, $30 for a standard pick-up full, but it turned out to be half composted horse manure that was still hot and stinky. The old lady was crazy too.......and argumentative......and overall just meaner than a snake. She was one of those hard-nose, take no shit from anyone, lifelong farm girls who'd put a round of double ought buck in your ass if you didn't tread ever so lightly -- which I did. Anyway, long story short, I just bagged up a small compost pile that I had next to my veggie garden.....turned out it was just enough -- about 4 cubic feet. Hopefully it works OK; it was made last summer from a few rotten veggies but mostly out of grass clippings and fall leaves from the previous year.
Here's the compost....black and beautiful. I'll probably have to screen it to get all the clumpy stuff out -- as well as the grubs that were in there.
Here's some rotten wood that I found by the river that I'm going to throw into the mix to cook also.
I found this randomly placed gigantic pile of wood chips -- I don't know who put it there or why but it's mine now and I'm going to use it to mulch my containers.
Damn, I hope this all works lol

good looking roots my man. Good job, I have been thinkin about doing a small hugelkultur type of grow, we have so many rotting logs around here and it just is a cool idea I think.

Day 42.....I'm starting to reach the point where I'm ready the get these the F out of here.
Here's the new Kerala Krush -- she smells really good and she's finishing pretty fast under the 10/14 light cycle.....can't wait to try her out. A little p def....the temps are getting down to the upper 50's at night.

Here are the plants in veg. I also have 3 others in 1 gallon pots that I'm going to put in 5 gallons tonight. I need to take clones because the broads in flower will be finished soon. There are several things I want to mix up for the next round. I'll get into that stuff later.

I just mixed my first batch of soil. I was digging the beef boullion smell of the neem seed meal at first but after mixing for about 2 hours, I couldn't take it anymore. It overpowered everything including the raunchy crab shell meal. Anyway, it's over and today my arms still feel like jello. (I mixed everything in my living room by hand)
Here's the pile after I mixed the compost, ewc, and peat moss together with all the goodies spread on top. As you can see, it made the room very dusty.....probably should have done it outside....and probably should have worn a mask.........lol...oh well.
After the "food" was mixed in.
After I mixed in the perlite......................
and I filled 3, 32 gallon trash bins.
Now I'm going to let it sit for 60 days or so........can't wait.

I cut down the 2 Northern Lights (cheesy pheno) plants. It was a tad early but I jinxed myself the other day by saying that I've only had one strain throw nanners.....well, make that two strains. I didn't feel like picking the bananas off and the trichomes were mostly cloudy so I snipped it.........what ev's. I also didn't clone it again so I'm definitely not regretting that decision.
The beefy smell from the dirt has turned into a nice earthy smell. The side of the trash cans were warm for the first few days from the microbial life doing their business.............thank christ they took care of that awful beef smell.
