Dug up seedling by accident

I made a mistake, I accidentally exposed the root to a couple day old seedling and had to touch it to fix it. Do you think it will live. Just happened a few minutes ago. I am an idiot lol

The weird thing is the white tap root is growing sideways then down. Is this normal? goes about half an inch before going down, and those roots that go down are thin. I am a noob so I do apologize. The seedling looks with green leaves though.

Might stunt it's growth for a minute, but as long as you didnt rip a bunch of roots off you'll be good like silky said.

The root will find it's way downward, as long as it's in the soil its gravy.

no honestly, people freak out too much about weed plants..just be kind liek you would any other
Plants are very resilient , obviously if you pick it up and chop it up and serve it in a salad it isnt going to live, but minor little things are no reason to panic!

To anyone wondering, although it has only been a day. The seedling looks good, the leaves have doubled in size, so I imagine it is fine cause it grew quite a bit overnight.

Totally normal, as you now can see the seed has done it's thing and worked it's way to the surface. With the new growth happening on your seedling it doesn't look like you touching it has caused any damage. Good luck growing!
