All the LP's are getting their employee's a medical document so they can give them the weed they grow and have their insurer pay for it... win win for everyone... employee gets free weed and the LP's insurance company gives the LP the money for it...

I agree with many of you but I hope that cannabis will become a drug with a DIN number and therefore would be covered under medical plans. To grow your own or buy it from a dispensary, cc, dg or any other source is more money than many patients can afford. Many are too unwell, don`t have the space or the skills to grow. They also don`t have to money to buy from growers, dgs ccs. LPs or any other source. If it had a DIN number, it would be covered under medical insurances and social assistance.

IMO, this is the best possible outcome but I doubt buds will get a DIN. Concentrates or Extracts is the way to go.

Best way to achieve standards for dosage..

so the employees get the moldy crap and the diseases that it causes & the LP gets money from the insurer ??
so that means if I work for a LP I can grow for myself? that doesn't sound right....very weird

Without being specific, I have had 11 orthopedic surgeries and am quite limited in some movement. I have chronic pain secondary to those surgeries. I agree that the MMPR is currently not optimal but I hope that it will improve. Through the medicalization of cannabis, I hope that in the near future it will be covered under all medical benefits programs including social assistance. Can you imagine a Canada where even the poor, the handicapped, the palliative patients can have legal, safe, quick and free cannabis? I think the only way we will get there is with a regulated, controlled program such as the MMPR.

Well we don't agree on mmpr ideals, but I do sincerely wish you the best in your health choices. Sounds like you've been through a lot. If you get your meds from LP's and it works for you, that is the most important thing.
I'm sure in person your a very nice lady and I have never meant you personal abuse.
Your LP decision is yours to make of course, I'm just not supportive of the LP system at this point. Maybe never will.
I'm use to doing for myself and resent what LP's represent. I mean Marie Jane wouldn't you rather grow your own meds ? Lush beautiful plants you can call your own. This is what you should be working for.

Blue cross does not cover all patients.
No insurer has crossed that line completely.
I know of a few people that used their magician skills to get someone to cover their meds but i know for a fact it doesnt apply to everyone insured by that company.
They all use the din excuse trust me ive been trying to get covered for a year and my lawyer has researched the shit out of it

Read an article on here I think that said a lady in ns had the provincial government agree to pay for her mmj as long as it was purchased from an lp. Wouldn't that technically mean they should pay for mine too? If we're being fair.

If i remember correctly the lady your talking about was reimbursed like 13k for meds she paid for the year before from cc's.
And they were forced to pay her and she was told from now on the mj had to come from an lp if welfare is expected to cover it.

And yes in theory since welfare which is our money has to pay for hers than yes everyone should have their script covered too.

i tried to claim my receipts from BCCCS and was told by CRA that they only see it as a medical expense if it was purchased from HC...I asked her now that HC no longer provides MMJ, what are they going to do....well that stumped her.
my receipts $30K worth (several years) were rejected! a supervisor was going to call me back & that was 2 months ago.

some of my meds are referred to as alt. Din....followed by a number...

Dear all new comer to this thread.

While this started out as a great thread to help prospective LP's learn a little more about the MMPR and aid them in their application process, over the last year it has sadly become a place where wannabe LP's come to die. Those who remain and were present all along have now become bitter old men who by virtue of repetitive posts on this very thread, have come to believe that they know it all and are sure that if they couldn't succeed, you can't. So don't be hindered by the haters who will inevitably storm their wrath upon you at the first comment that mentions an intention of becoming a LP. So to all those that would like to learn more about the MMPR and what it takes to retain a License under it. Come join a new thread that will be created right after this post. Also the best way for LP's to over charge patients for meds, only in a new form, concentrates. I'm being facetious btw, I know we're speaking in terms of consistent dosage. But if they are wayyyyyy over charging on flowers how do you think concentrates will go? Especially after having to purchase more equipment and build a new add on to facilities to process them in.

Can patients REALLY afford $120-$150/g concentrates? Because the CC pricing hovers around $60-$100/g currently. Just a whole other bad can of worms that doesn't need opening or dealing with in regards to LP's even getting in the concentrates game.

i guess they would have to test your "concentrate" to figure out how to charge you....if it's a 50% concentrate, you should get a lesser sentence that if it was 95%....???
