Chamomile and marijuana!!

so i was reading about companion planting, and i came accross this about chamomile:
"Chamomile is sometimes known as "the plant doctor", because it is thought to help the growth and health of many other plants, especially ones that produce essential oils. It is thought to increase production of those oils, making certain herbs, like mints (spearmint, sage, oregano) and basil taste stronger in scent and flavor"
so.. thc is a oil, so my guess it that it would induce the oil production in marijuana if i plant it at its feets?

any truth or fact to this?, i encourage you to give this a try, im going to try it and if it doesn't work, w.e... it also keeps bugs away.

Chamomile is a bitch to grow. Well to start it to grow. It needs to be seeds in light? What a pain. I used a whole bag of seeds and nothing. I am thinking of trying garlic in my 7 gsllon pots. I hear it keeps the bugs off. It looks like no roots. It is easy as fuck. I planted some store bought bulbs and I got it going good now.

+rep for this. Never heard that about Chamomile, but I must try it now!

Garlic seems to work good at keeping the bugs away, but I stopped using it because it was also keeping ME away! Also because I had to reduce the amount of plants that I was growing. I love garlic, but not mixed in with the sweet smells of my organic cannabis ;)

anyone know about the roots of garlic getting in the way of our plants? i desperately want to get rid of nats in soil. I thnk garlic might work. IT is easy to grow. Thoguths?

gnats are usually a sign of over-watering. Let your soil dry out completely before watering it, in order to be vigil. They will only live/breed/die in moist soggy soil. On top of that, put about an inch or so of sand on top of the soil. It will sufficate them, and they dont breed in sand. Then, put sticky traps on top of that and around the pots, to catch the flying ones. That;s how I got rid of gnats when I get them. Works really well too. You just have to be vigil.

You can try that garlic thing, it also works. Not sure about in the same container or not though.

thx for everyones feedback, im going to try growing the chamomile next to my plants and see if its true about the oil production.
ill tell you all if it works in harvest season!

I have indoor pots holding 34 gallons of soil. I kind of made each one a 2x2 soil bed on wheels and I grow chamomile, yarrow, nettles, borage, lettuce, clover, and other things that wont disturb cannabis. I can definitely say that I have a ton more resin on my leaves at only a month into flowering. Gotta love companion planting

And grow roman chamomile as a companion since it is lower growing. It's literally a cover crop.

So have you planted the cannabis plants in the same pots/grow beds as the companion plants so they benefit from each other in terms of soil activity? Or are they separated in different pots?

Depends on what it is but with things like yarrow, chamomile, nettle, borage, clover. That should be planted in the same pot to benefit. My pot is 21 inches long though so it is easier. I have aloe and lemon balm in seperate containers right now.

What about watering with chamomile (Or other herbs like nettle, mullein, etc.) tea? I usually give my garden plants all my leftover tea and coffee, and I've noticed they especially love it when they get Sleepy Time, which I think is chamomile based.

I do this also but with homemade teas.

Coffee grounds are great for your compost, it adds lots of nitrogen.

On a side note I can also add that coffee is GREAT to combat snails in your garden, they die very quickly if they come into contact with it. It works like a neurotoxin on the little bastards. I basically saved my harvest of corn, squash, beans and cucumber using the cheapest coffee I could get last summer :) The coming summer I have plans to construct coffee traps that keeps the rain from washing away the coffee and keeps the snails at bay. I don't drink the shit but it's a truly awesome weapon against snails :D
