Need imput from Co2 users

I see huge differences in my full co2 controlled grows compared to not. I see about a week fatsre harvest and about 40-60% finally weight. Some places with perfect systems say they get 80% better yields I haven't hit that yet.

Yikes lol... Im cheap remember. i paid $35 for 4 20lb tanks so Id look for like a $70 50lb tank.. Im picking up a few of the 320gal bulk IBC tanks the ones with the steel cage around them and ball valves to use as offsite res tanks. I found guy has few dozen he was asking $45 each for but got him to go $30 so grabbing 4 of those lol..I usually end up swapping my co2 tanks out for theirs anyways as its expensive to get them recertified every couple years and they wont fill expired certified co2 tanks..I might see if I can find an old 50 lb tank on craigslist and do an exchange

After a week (maybe less) you'll need to dump the bucket and start fresh.

I did this in a few of my early grows. The way I set mine up was with the 5 gallon bucket. Then I drilled a 1/2" hole in the top along with a small hole to run tubing from a small air pump. I just sat the air pump on top of the lid and ran the tube into the water to bubble it and create pressure. That thing would put out a lot of co2. I also had an aquarium heater in the bucket to keep the water nice and warm, which you'll need to keep the yeast consuming the sugar.

You only add co2 in the flowering stage though. Doesn't really do anything during veg from what I've read.

no heater in the water the yeast itself will make heat ..........the simplest one to make is the rum 12 bags of dark brown sugar ....pint of honey.....gypsum 1 tea spoon....yeast nutrient 1 table spoon to gallon (this makes 6 gallons)......put the stuff in a big pot add 2 gallons hot tap water heat and stir untill nothing is left ....let it heat for 10 mins longer (inverting the sugars) take off dump into your brew bucket add about 3 gallons of cold water stir should be around 80s .....add Dady yeast .........stir it up put lid over top walk away for hour come back look in make sure going stir one more time then cap it and set up the air lock

depending on the amount yeast nutes u added the time period this one 5 days after that all the sugar will be converted and u have something that is now 20% ach by volume

some lemon juice (lower ph only reason)

hummmm..... i was under the impression that you "don't want to exhaust a co2 supplemented room, so not to waste/exhaust, expensive co2." especially for fresh air, which is why you use co2, so you can run way higher ppm's of co2, than fresh air could ever supply, like in the 1100-1200 ppm range, versus 4-500 or so, from fresh air. am i missing something, i must have misread something somewhere....

I guess the heater might not have been necessary. I thought I had to keep it warm. It had a temperature gauge so it probably wasn't even turning on at what I had it set to (72 I think).

Does it smell like rum after it's converted to alcohol :-)

I could be wrong. It's been a while since I researched co2, but from what I remember, you cycle the air.

Can someone give their knowledge here

run that off a pot stil and it will ........this one makes very little methanol when it starts to come out u only need to collect the first 750mls that comes out and toss it away (that is the poison kill yah stuff u have just cut it off and did 2/3 more then u needed to ....100% safe to drink )

this is assuming u are cooking off all 5/6 gallons of it at once if u are only doing a gallon at a time only need to do 75 mls

u should end up with 2 gallons of about 90/100 proof then half gallon for tails (low grade stuff )

Co2 is a heavier gas.......so it pools up in a confined area it would be like filling the bathtub and the exhaust is like that drain at the top lvl ...........so as u mix in the air and the Co2 they will both warm up and raise along with swirl around in the confined area (like water and oil if u keep them moving it mix water is top oil is below )

about right for noobs to shine .........when it comes off the stil it has no sugars at all so the effects of it hit fast and build to that point ......at this point tho i look like a bad ass ordering a drink in the bar the store stuff does not even get a reaction out of me unless it is 151

my personal bottle at home is 140 proof mix with weed tincture
 
That Titan controller is exactly what you need. It will shut off the CO2 at night and maintain the levels you set during the day. No guessing your ppms. I only exhaust once during lights on and 4 times when lights are out. If you have good air movement in the tent the CO2 won't settle. You might need to add a dehumidifier to the room though.
 
Co2 is great..when used properly. You are going to suck that tank dry in record time...believe me.

Those calculators are great..they tell you how much gas is needed to reach a certain ppm. they don't however let you know how much co2 your plats are absorbing. And if the lights are on 24/7 then they will always be absorbing co2. You would be amazed how much a packed room will decrease the co2 levels. Mine will go from 1500 to baseline in less than an hour if I shut the gas off.

Tanks are a major major PIA.. but maybe I'm just old and lazy.

You could use a tankless hot water heater to generate co2. That would get rid of about 70 percent of the heat compared to a regular burner.

If your serious about it..seal it up, get some AC and a proper co2 system. Looking at around 3k...it will pay for itself the first run.
