I understand why you are curious because the volcano is suppose to be the cadillac of Desktop Vaporizer on the market but the whole balloon/bag system is what gives the burnt popcorn taste and smell. With a portable Vaporizer that has a glass stem you don't get that burnt popcorn taste at all, you get the true taste of the terpenes from the vaporized bud. I love the pax for on the go but the Solo is my go to at home for sure. The crafty is good as well and is made by storz and bickel who make the volcano but it is way expensive.

So are you for vaping or against it? Ok I read that article and the author is an idiot, the Pax is not a fucking vape pen its a full on portable vaporizer. First of all vaping concentrates is the best way, is he in the stone age using a light bulb? As far as pens go for loose leaf herb there is not one pen on the market yet that does not combust the herb because they all use the heated coil and have no temperature settings. Now if you are using a pen with a concentrate mod you get a true vape of the oil/wax/amber/shatter. The only pen I know of that truly vapes loose leaf herb is the grasshopper and you have to get on a waiting list to get one and it has temp settings and no heated coils.

You are use to combusting herb which gives it a burnt taste and you have acquired that taste so you think that is what herb should taste like, combusted. When vaping with a solid made vaporizer you taste the true elements of the herb like citrus, flowers, gas, that skunk smell, etc and it doesn't leave that "I just smoked a bowl/spliff taste in your mouth in fact it leaves no taste in your mouth.
I have tried a lot of vaporizers and right now my go to favorite is the PAX 2 as it brings out the taste in a good way, great battery life, big milky white vape clouds and off of .25 grams I can get about 14 hits and in a pipe that would be about one or maybe two and it wouldn't even be enough for a spliff. Plus with the left over vape you can make butter with it and then edibles and believe me from experience they are potent as hell. I use 15 grams of used vaped herb and 1.5 sticks of non salty butter to make ABV butter (ABV = After Been Vaped).
So you get more out of your herb and you can reuse it. Fuck combusting it is an archaic way of ingesting herb these days

I have nothing but good to say about vaping.
Studys show that you get a far superior use of your product then by burning it, even in a bong.
I get really wasted with half the amount in a volcano than in my joint. I have tried several other vape machines and they suck compared to volcano.
I never tried concentrates, i am trying to make some now actually but having some problems (i have a thread about it) but ye obviously that kicks ass to flowers, it dies however seem more work and more expensive. Like ALOT :-/
Besides it IS healthier than smoking. But its not the same though... I can't replace smoking with vaping i don't get the "smoking feel" and i am addicted to that as well
But using the volcano once in a while gets me waaay stoned. And the taste! My own homegrown bud i have cared for and spent alot of time and money on the right additives and equipment, cured to perfection, the pure taste not tainted by tobacco combustion and smoke i love that

My vapor Bros hits as hard as a bong.
Because ive only smoked before, it took me a few weeks to really get used to it.
Now I can exhale as much vapor as any bong hit. But that's not the best way to use it. Smaller hits usually make better use of the vapor, which stretches my stash 2x I'd say.

My honey bought a vape box not real long ago but hell we hardly ever use it. I would like to say that this thing is best for smoking outside with a park bench on your deck and just roll with it. The last time I tried it, I had a night that I had hoped to be restful was not. Albeit vaping with a good indica strain, this made me have a sativa-like high. Made me twitch and turn.

Still kind of a noob when it comes to concentrates slash vaping but I don't get to do this often as I'd like to so that being said, the tolerance level never gets pushed up. I think a vape hot box is awesome for those looking for a clean 'smoke' with company, its a shame to use it alone.
