Should I buy a 5×5 grow room for $2,000 or try to make my own from diy videos?although I've never built anything. How much would my electric bill will go up?

A good package deal for a complete 5x5 tent could save you both money and time, but $2000.... that's too much.

Count on using roughly 10 to 15kWh extra per day.

DIY will cost you less the Bill depends on your lighting
if you look on ebay they have some good package deals with tents lighting and everything part from the plants them self's and normally cheaper then your local hydro store or if your in the states try craiglist or other sites like that and get some used goods that's what i did when i first started up save some Huge$$$ buying 2nd hand all the best with what ever you do

As DirtyNerd mentioned your electricity increase will obviously depend on what lighting system you decide to go with. I am currently a new grower and using CFL, I don't even see a difference in my electricity bill. Metal halide MH lights look good from what I've seen and heard but I think they might be a little more expensive to run. Although I'd recommend HID lighting which I suggest you do your own research on, I will be upgrading to HID asap.

Goodluck with everything!

If you have the money, buy a tent. If you have the skill level, build you a room. If you are worried about electricity cost, get leds or t5 or cfl light. A51led.com (good leds)
Htgsupply.com(good t5 fixtures)
If your using metal halide you'll have a lot of heat to get rid of and will also keep your humidity lower cause the heat. With all fans and pumps and lights needed for a 5x5 and depending where you live. Your electric bill could go up anywhere between 25-100 bucks. A lot of variables there. Too many. If you are completely new to this I would start with one plant and a small light to learn before spending a lot of money.

Yep, start small and work your way up. Depending on budget you could buy an Area 51 and keep adding them as you learn.

I have about ten CFLs I brought months ago but never use them was scared to cause of being new to ordering seeds but since then I've learned way more and I got my first seeds and I'm ready to become a teachable grower cause it's money to make and I think I just found a new hobby.

Area51led.com. That's a great affordable led light brand to get. But t5s will work. Again frkm reading this thread another time I would say get you one plant and one small light and practice and learn before setting up a huge grow. You'll save yourself some money and know a lot more when you start a bunch.
