cheapest way to veg

What is the cheapest way to veg one plant at a time? I have a 1000w HID im useing to flower plants now. I vegged them with the 1000w as well and my power bill almost doubled.whats the cheapest way to veg one plant at a time for a month then put it under the 1000w to flower? I plan to put one plant in veg then another plant the next week then one the next then one the next and put one in flower. So basically ill be vegging 4 plants at a time staggered a week apart. That way I can harvest one plant every week. So at all times they will be 4 plants in veg and 9-10 in flower. So now my question is whats the cheapest way to veg 4 plants for a month staggered a week apart?

Get yourself another light source.
T5,t8 or even standard t12 could do the trick.
You can also go h.i.d. and get a 400 or 600 to veg.
Another option would be led (imo best option being you are flowering with the 1000hps).

t12s or cfls are cheap as fuck to both buy and run.....

No they don't lmao i own 2 that can veg a 3x3 space each perfectly that i paid $400 a piece for.

Cfls are good to use as well. I use those for my little clone box.

Well yeah cheap to buy but watts is watts. So 60 watts of t12 is the same as 60 from cfl and so on. So its the same to run if you are going by watts.

4 desk lamps with 26w CFLs would do well for vegging your single plant. You will probably want to veg for 8 weeks though.

The cheapest long term is led. The cheapest for up front would be t5 cfl flourecents. For a 3x3 grow you could get 3 Area 51 rw100s and would rock that space. I have 4 of them for a 4x4. It would cost you somewhere under 1000 bucks yea. But you'll use less ventallation because they run the coolest. The power usage each month won't be shit. Will be 300 watts at 18 hours per day during veg.
And 450 watts at 12 hours a day during flower. I grew one plant under my 4 lights just as a tester while I build a 4 bucket system , and I got more than 3 ounces off of it. It was only 10" tall and scrogged.

LED's is the best option for vegging imo, but not all LEDs are the same. Many cheapo brands are actually less efficient than HID.

With top bin cree cxa3070 or cxa3590 5000k 70cri, a big heat sink, and a 94% efficient driver, you will be able to make a very good veg lamp with efficiencies between 40-50% depending on how hard you drive it. (how much money you spend up front essentially, since you';d need more cobs to get the same output PAR at lower drive current)

35% efficiency is a 600W HPS, 40% is VERY good, and 50% efficiency is EXTREMELY good. duh... lol.

I use the same t5 fixtures for my seedlings clones and mothers. But I have a 2x4 tent with 2 a51 w100s for the one month veg. Then off to the 4x4 tent
