Just wanted to apologize for being 'that 9 day guy'. I for some reason was trying to wait to see how many would even pop. It won't happen again. My updates will be posted every Friday evening. I know I won't win for sake of genetics but would love to make it all the way to the end and maybe even place. Sorry for the troubles like I said it won't happen again.
All good brother, you weren't the only one and as long as you keep up with the updates I'm sure others will forgive you just this once

I dont wanna get DQ for an upadate so here ya go.
Medium, regular soil I bought at a local nursery.
Light, 400 watt hps.
Nutrients, MG veg/flow , FF tiger bloom, big bud, bud candy, and blackstrap unsulphured molasses.
so far im only dealing with my two afghani (regular) beans since my 3rd didnt sprout so I might germ one 707 headband and white widow ferm tonight!
theyre a bit burnt but nothing to worry about , I hope lol
anyways heres a pic of both which got transplanted to white foam cups since the other two are gonna be sprout in foam cups i decided to go head and transplant.

The rules make sense but it doesn't make sense that one would get dq'd for not posting a weekly update when the whole of contestants don't have to. I do understand that a switcheroo could happen or what not so yeah some kind of update but if there was a vote to DQ someone over not posting his beans that are barely poppin I would vote it down.

Here’s my first official post, off to the races, Day 0. 3 popped large enough to plant so planted those today. The other two have broken but not much of a tail so if they pop and look viable, I’ll plant them in the next couple of days and post an update. Otherwise these3 seeds below are the one’s I’ll go with and select the winner when they sex ;)

Seeds:
1x The Church (FEM), just trying to see what this strain looks and tastes like for potential outdoor this summer. My only fem.
2x DIY Blueberry x PPP (REG, BPP for short, I call them Blue Power Plant), one popped a nice tail, the other is questionable but whatever, they’re in the cups now.
2x DIY Blueberry x Jack The Ripper (REG, BR for short, I call them Blue Ripper). Both are TBD, if they don’t look good in the next couple of days I’ll just go with the 3 above.

Cups:
Modified 16 oz./473ml (zoom in on package to see size marking on package) “Goodtimes” cups courtesy of Canadian Tire. I’m calling them SAC’s (Smart Air Cups), trademark pending ;) I used a recycled 5gal fabric pot. Cut the bottom off and flattened a cup to make a template. Cut several templates for the liner and bottom (see pics). I’ve had great results with fabric and have been wanting to try this. To allow for air pruning I punched several ¼” holes in the cups. Hoping that’s enough to mimic a normal fabric pot and build a solid root mass within the small space. In theory, big/solid root ball = 1 oz. finished plant? We’ll see, could be a win or a bust, trying it is the only way to know. The liner covers the bottom so no worries about roots coming through. Punched my standard 5x small drainage holes in the bottom with a large paper clip.

Medium:
My normal 50% Pro-Mix/50% Triple-Mix soil mix, good for veg, needs some help as they progress

Nutes:
AN base A&B, mainly bloom but may feed them low doses once they get a couple of nodes depending on what they tell me they need. Typically I go 300-400 ppm through veg, up to 600 ppm through flower.

Lights/Environment:
They’ll go into my main flowering room. Have 2x 3100k/315w LEC Sun Systems CMH and 1x LED with reds only (630/660nm) pulling 65W. The LED’s come on 10 minutes before the main CMH lights and go off at the end of the cycle. They’ll be on the floor for a few days until the pop through and acclimate, then go into the tray on the wall through the rest of the cycle.

Germination/Plant dates:
All were germinated beginning 2/9, the first 3 shown below were planted yesterday 2/14

Pics referencing what I posted above. Let’s grow some weed and good luck to all!

That is what I thought, I need to pick the ones I know will pop for sure then. I am having such a hard time picking because I have never grown a full plant in party cups. I have vegged like 4 foot monsters in a party cup before but that was hard.

Hey guys not trying to clog up the stream this will be my last post for a little bit. I just came back to say I am smoking my first doobie in a while as I have come down with a crazy chest head cold that has me feelin like I got in a fight with superman. So as I am climbing the mountain and starting to get my wings back I realized something.

Wouldn't it be amazing if the party cup competition had its own sub forum with each participant having their own thread? The weekly updates could be posted in their own thread and it would keep this thread for discussion and what not. Would be easier to track weekly updates and would show a clean transition from day 1-finish. Where as I have scrolled through the past party cup competitions and it is a clusterfuck.

Anyone think this is a good idea? If this gains some ground I will post it in the support forum and see what is up. I think the sponsors would be behind this as well because you have a journaled progression possibly with their equipment or seeds being used. It is a good way to show things off.

It would also be an easy way to see who got dq'd as the host can just post a banner saying DQ'd and the host should be able to lock the post.

Win the comp, set it up this way next time. This one is in the books, with 2 weeks left to germinate.

it would work better for the judges. instead of searching thru this thread for who did what and when, they can just go down a list of threads.
theres already been lots of great posts and few updates and at times this thread can move like a chat room; people would be able to check their own ish daily as well as others.. as we all know lol... but hey i aint running the joint just participating.

i do agree though, and i bet many will too
