Like any other drug, depends on the person imo, in the case of MJ even more variations as there are so many different strains and associated strength/composition of the meds. e.g. I get migraines and when they started I was taking up to 2000mg (4x Extra Strength) Tylenol's, they didn't do shit for me but I switched to ibuprophen (advil) and 600mg of that can make it manageable. With mind altering drugs there's more variables like your mood at the time, the reason you're smoking etc.
I don't believe any drug will fix anything if there's an underlying issue that hasn't been dealt with and you're taking a drug to fix it. I think of it as a lazy shortcut to an underlying issue that can usually be dealt with in other ways. I'm almost 55 and don't know anyone my age who's not taking some form of pharma meds on a daily basis. Not that I haven't had health issues (cancer for one) but other than when I was going through cancer treatments I take nothing else other than ibuprophen for migraines. Even then, if I'm not working I'll have a camomile tea with a high CBD bud before taking ibuprophen. Everything else I first try and deal with by changing my lifestyle, foods, what I drink, regular exercise, then resort to meds as a last resort. Like I said I don't take pharma meds regularly, which tells me there are alternatives or I'm extremely lucky? (don't think so)
Like I say to my kids, taking drugs is not the problem, the reason you're taking them is the problem. Have your shit together, figure out why you're taking something, then smoke or drink for the right reason(s) and you'll be fine. Otherwise it becomes just another problem on top of the original problem you hadn't dealt with and if anything makes it worse.
