yellow plant

So I have 4 plants in 5 gallon bucket under a 400w HPS. I have 4 of the same strain from the same breader and I've noticed the leaves on one of them were not as green as the others. I figured I didn't feed it enough nutes so the neXT time I feed I said I would give a little more water. So I did and I noticed the new leaves are still a bit yellow. Well they're not yellow but they look lighter than the others. Could i have gotten different strains by mistake? I added a picture at the bottom to compare them.

Check the PH in your water. Water that is too acidic will cause this. You will also create acidic soil if you nute too much, too soon. In my own experience I found that water that is "Hard" or basic, is better than the other way around.

Depending on your soil, you need very little nutes, if any, when the ladies are small. My soil already has some built in nutes, so I don't give her anything until Flower.

Figured, I never check the PH levels and I've had great success in the past. I assume this strain is a bit delicate. I've only grown one strain my whole career and figured I'd try something else.

Leaves that are not green can also be a sign of low Nitrogen. I put a nice pinch of Blood Meal in the hole before I transplant, and this seems to do a nice job of keeping her green. And your soil should have some kind of "Food" already, unless you are mixing your own from scratch.

Are your growing an Indica or a Sativa.

Do you know of a quick fix for this?? Or do I need to buy something? Can you recommend something?

First thing I would check is if your water is Hard or Soft (Alkaline or Acidic). That is a simple test using strips or drops. Let me know what your PH level is.

PH pen just broke, waiting on a new one now... it's usually around 7 but it's tricky. I've noticed some times it's a little under some times a little over. I'll let you know. The plant isn't yellowing from the bottom like in plants with N problems, it simply looks like it's being drained. The new growth is still a bit hard to tell if it's starting to grow normally again. I'm almost 100% it needs some nitrogen. I don't even now anymore

i think you got spider mites.see the little yellow dots on the leaves.get a white piece of paper hold under the leaf and shake leaf, the mites will fall onto the paper and you will see them little dots running around on the paper, like you said its being drained.start a spider might treatment if you are not already its good to do even if you dont have mites so you wont get mites.

What treatment would you suggest? I tried shaking it but nothing comes off.. I've never had to deal with mites before but it would be nice to know how to treat them if I ever do

I use take down garden spray made by monterey.its a concentrate that contains pyrethrins.i spray it under leaves and stuff every 3 to 7 days in veg as needed and maybe like first week and a half before buds start to develop during flower.there is alot of products on the market and home remedies for this do some research here on rollitup, there is all kinds of info here on mites and find the ones that suits your style of growing.alot of people rotate remedies cause mites are known to build resistance.hopefully you dont got mites cause you did not see any on the paper but maybe they have not got that far out of hand yet.if you got a scope check the bottom of the leaves for em thats were they like to hang out. They are tiny.they thrive in a warmer environment keep grow area clean...different strain mistake most likely not but maybe that pheno is different and a little more hungry than the others.some times mg def looks like that too compare your leafs to one of those leaf chart things they got on here.those leafs do no look that bad stay on top of things and you should be allright.I know that feeling of I dont even know anymore....just work your way threw it best you can thats what makes you a better grower on the next round

If it's lower than 7, you'll have to be careful with your soil becoming too acidic, depending on your nute regime. Are you using any nutes yet and what kind of soil? Remember, nutes are acidic and are rarely needed in the first stages if your soil is decently "charged".

Like I said earlier, with my soil, I don't need any nutes until flower.

Just to let you know, I've had the experience of my leaves turning yellow early into flowering. Too early. I have very hard water with a PH around 8-9, so I would use the acidic drops to bring it down to 6.5.

Since nutes are naturally acidic, I found that my hard water is actually a great balance in my grow, not needing any drops. Since I've made this change of leaving my water alone, my leaves have stayed green all the way to Harvest.

I'm using fox farm happy frog and I'm feeding it general organics go box About twice a month ( i water every Thursday or whenever the plant shows signs of needing water and feed every other Thursday) I'm growing it exactly the same way I grew the last batch, but I guess strain is a bit diff.. it's crazy because I have 4 white widow plants, two of them have really dark leaves which makes me assume there's tooo much N but then the other two plants show like it has to little N. After feeding get one of them really well it started growing again in height and with greener leaves but the other one stayed yellowish. So that's mainly why I'm confused and don't know which way to go. I will Def keep an eye on it. I'll post some more pics today with my HPS off to get a better look

Not sure if I'm reading your post correctly, but are you saying you only water your plant(s) once a week?
