large scale farmers don't even work 8.

watch the documentary 'king corn'. someone with a 680 acre property like no drama has, and who is using only 5/8th of it to grow crops like nodrama does, is only farming 425 acres. that is nothing.

with a tractor that costs around $400,000 (paid for with government welfare checks) he's tilling one day one week, top dressing one day the next week, and planting for one day the week after. then he sits around and twiddles his thumbs until it's time to spray herbicide on his GMO crops.

he doesn't even have to steer the tractor, it's guided by GPS. the most work he does is turn the wheel at the end of the row.

like with everything else he says on this site, when he's not plagiarizing, outright lying, or making ridiculous hyperbole, he's plagiarizing, outright lying, or making ridiculous hyperbole.

I think I know what it is.. these people grew up way before the internet.. Back then, their lies could permeate the globe without ever being confronted. Today, google is one button away, you lie, I know.. he might work 16 hours a day...one or two days a week when the tilling/planting/spraying window is open.

he farms 425 acres. that is 5/8th of a square mile. at 15 mph, his tractor covers a one mile pass in 4 minutes. with a 30 foot wide attachment to his tractor, he takes care of 5/8th a of a mile in 110 passes. that is 440 minutes, or 7.3333333 hours to give his entire acreage one pass.

that does not include the time it takes to go buy seeds, or fertilizers, and load them to the tractor or switch the attachment to the tractor. so we'll double the time for safety and suppose 16 hours.

one 16 hour day, once in a while, to plow/fertilize/spray/harvest the fields.

the type of farming he does is not a lot of work at all.

Simple poll to see if public schools are beneficial to the American way of life. Some here have said that we don't need public schooling and it is a waste of our tax dollars.

I was in public school from 56-68 and think I got a pretty good, well rounded education. Some of the kids I managed, even though they graduated, were dumb as fuck about stuff. I don't know what they're teaching nowadays.

My family have been farmers since they arrived in the USA.
There are down times, sure, but not as much as some of the above posts claim.
