Deficiency or something else?

( grow big, big bloom, tiger bloom ) for soil or hydro
you use nutes with the tea
I may be just confusing what your saying or maybe we are saying the same thing Terry, but after reading Heisenbergs post I was under the impression that I just mixed up my nutrients as I normally would in my reservoirs, and then after 48 hours of brewing the anchient forest, ZHO, hydroguard, and molasses, I add 1 cup of this tea per gallon to my res every 3 days until I think I have things under control at which time I can just start adding 1 cup of tea every week.

My concern was mainly caused by to much reading and someone saying that big bloom would not work with teas because it was organic? Sorry for any confusion, I just dont want to starve the plants of required nutrients if this tea is going eat up the big bloom. I was assuming from what I read that everthing needs to be chemical which I thought this FF line of nutes was. Am I missing something?

This is a quote from Heisenberg's original post at https://www.rollitup.org/t/dwc-root-slime-cure-aka-how-to-breed-beneficial-microbes.361430/

Please let me know if I am misinterpreting anything, cause I do not want to mess this up lol.

The recipe is really simple. Start with non-chlorinated water. I make 2 gallons at a time, but you can easily adjust the additives for whatever amount you wish to make. Now put the water into a bucket and throw in a couple air stones. The more air the better. You want the water to be almost turbulent from the bubbles. Now, add 15-30ml of aquashield and about 1/4-1/2 scoop of the ZHO powder. You will be breeding these into the billions so it doesn't really matter how much you start with, just don't overdo it. Now take an old sock or pantyhose and fill it with about 2 handfuls of EWC or Ancient Forest. Tie off the sock and place it in the water above an air stone, or better yet, feed an air stone down into the sock itself. If you want, you can just throw the EWC directly into the water and strain it out later with cheesecloth or even an aquarium net. Next, add about a tablespoon of molasses to wake up the microbes and give them something to eat. We will only be feeding the microbes in this tea; never add food for the microbes to the res itself. It's okay if the bennies in the res starve. You will be replacing them every few days. Now let the tea bubble at room tempeture for 48 hours. It can be used after 24, but will be more active and diverse at 48. If you use EWC you will probably notice a foam eventually, this is normal. After 48 hours you can store the tea in the fridge where it will stay fresh for about 10 days. Once it starts to go bad it will develop an odor. If you ever detect an odor from your tea, throw it out and make a new batch. Fresh tea can have a range of smells from earthy to mossy to shroomy. Bad tea smells like gym socks, fecal matter, or decay.

Initially, add about 1 cup to your res for every gallon of water, and then add 1 cup total every 3 days after. If you can, pour a little over the base of the stalk to inoculate the root crown. Your water might get a little cloudy but your roots will stay white and stimulated. When you use tea and practice proper res maintenance you can feel confident your roots will be healthy. By multiplying the microbes this way your products should last a great deal longer. Once you have eradicated slime and simply want protection from future outbreaks, adjust the tea dosage to 1 cup per 10 gallons about once per week.

i'm lazy i use this line up works great look at feed chart
LOL, makes sense to me. Funny I was looking at that line awhile back when I first started germinating and low and behold I chose the wrong one, go figure :p live and learn I guess. I am determined to kill this rot and get on with this grow, I just want to ensure I do everything possible to prevent it from coming back lol. If that means scrapping the FF trio that was expensive I might add lol, then so be it.

Terry I appreciate all you assistance with this problem. Whether they make it or not you have provided me with a lot of valuable information for the future and I thank you for that sir!!

February 16 put in dwc with hydroguard to see if hydroguard works NOT February 23 put on tea
So hydroguard alone is a complete fail eh? lol well good to know there are smarter people out there then me that came up with this wonderful tea method, I am just hoping to get this resolved before its to late. Just got off the phone with a guy that started telling me about black label nutrients http://pureessentialsblacklabel.com/ I was getting ready to buy advanced but I think I am going to give this a shot, not to mention its down the street at one of my local hydro shops. I'll keep you posted on the never ending root rot saga lol.

don't do like me and buy and use then look at label see has organics in it
I compared the ingredients and they are basically identical if you look at them side by side. There are minor differences and the other reason for choosing black label was it was down the street lol.

Ok now I need some advice. I have my tea brewing and I just purchased a new line of nutrients (black label). I cleaned the entire grow room and scrubbed each res out with bleach. I ran each plant under my sink sprayer for a few minutes to flush out the roots and rock wool. Should I change the res one more time with fresh water Nd let it set over night with no nutes or should I add some nutes to the res?

I really want to make sure I have the net pots, rocks and rock wool completely flushed and clear of bleach before adding my tea which I will start adding Monday. I was thinking about just adding a half dose of nutrients to the res, I just hate wasting nutrients if I don need to. Any thoughts or opinions? Should I just continue to flush with water until tomorrow?

Thanks!!!

Its actually a small light Tone, I custom built my cabinet's specifically due to space constraints. Each cabinet is 4' x 2' x 8' and the T5 light is basically 3' x 20" so it doesnt put off as much heat as you would think. The other thing I have going for me is I run a 6" inline fan connected to a carbon filter that provides phenomenal negative pressure which is vented into the attic. basically whatever temperature I keep in my house tends to be the temperature in the cabinet + 5 degrees.

That being said my house is usually 70 degrees at all time in every room so the cabinet never usually gets over 75. I will try to get some pics up in my journal of my cabinet's after I get this rot under control lol. The flower cabinet is an exact replica of the veg cabinet and will run a vented 600 watt hps. I also have a ton more room in the flower cabinet so I am not concerned with the canopy ever getting to close to the light, not to mention I will be going the scrog route which will help.

Did exactly that Terry!! I put a half strength solution of nutrients in each res after flushing each plant with fresh water. I was also glad to see that these new nutrients dont cloud up my res lol, its crystal clear!! The tea is brewing good, checked on it awhile ago, I feel like I am brewing a magic potion :p if it cures my babies I will never quit using it, this root rot shit is the worst experience I have ever had and it takes up so much more time then what it takes to just brew up some bennies. I hate learning things the hard way lol.
