Think of it this way. Why would you stop feeding them when they are working their hardest to produce for you?

Flushing is for toilets.

I'm just going on the majority of advice I've seen, which is to stop feeding and flush..it does seem bit odd..they don't seem to mind still green as hell I've only ever gave them just under half suggested dose of canna nutes..ive sampled both taste superb..to feed or not to feed? Lights on 11:15 ph water or light feed..always have plenty runoff first grow going by the book I've not had any issues..think ill flush..

thanks pics with 30x Lupe and my phone
Well. I've done week long flush before. I didn't realize that so many good growers thought it was a bad idea. I think next time, I'm just gonna do a hella flush like as many gallons as the bucket holds with PHed water 2 days before I harvest. And then just let it sit in the dark a couple of days. I mean. Kind of a compromise. Sometimes when so many are adversarial to what you believe and are actually competent with evidence, you tend to lift an eyebrow and say hmmmm. Maybe they're right? I dunno man.

Those are some nice looking buds bro.

Nothing wrong with flushing. That's what leaves are for.
When I finish mine there is hardly any fan leaf left. I do a long slow fade. They turn yellow, red, purple and brown and then fall off dead.
2 weeks before harvest I start cutting way back on nutes and then begin using just molasses / water.
If you don't flush...your smoking nutes. 2 days doesn't quite cut it...a week is better.
I prefer quality over quantity.
You want the plant to be sucking nutes out of leaves not the dirt anymore..that way you know it will be clean and healthy...and tasty.

Pssst. See what I mean OP bro. This flush thing is a touchy subject on the RIU. Best to just be a closet flusher me thinks. If you gonna flush. I dunno man. Peeps on the RIU be very passionate about some things. :peace::eyesmoke::peace:

Smoking nutes, shmoking shmutes.

we all smoke nutes. Better than buying from your buddy's cousin who stashes his product in the gas tank of an old 4-wheeler.

That gas-tank bud wasn't flushed either. And it smokes perfect lol. Idk what I'm talking about :/

Take ogreballerina's post for example.

Nothing was flushed from the bud, nutrients were flushed out of the growing medium, resulting in a plant that has to canabalize itself to stay alive. If the goal is to flush nutrients from your buds, why is it good that the plant is pulling nutes from the leaves instead of the soil? It's still absorbing nutrients.
You're still smoking those horrible nutes...

always had 30% + runoff only ever gave just under half recommended nutes..call it a precautionary flush..plants still very green..seem unaffected..As for flushing I do two step flush every feed..water then nutes so only thing in doing different is not feeding just phed 5.8 water..they not telling me they need fed..still green

Sounds like you're feeding them just fine. I'd say keep doing what you're doing and finish the last week with plain water at the normal amount you've been giving them, no need to give them 3x their pot size in water or any of that. That's just my 2 cents on this subject, in the end I don't care what anyone does with their plants, flush them, defoliate them, whatever floats your boat. I'm just giving my opinion on this topic so you can see two sides of the coin. I used to be a flusher until I started questioning what I thought I knew and put in the work to see the results for myself. Now I don't flush and I don't end up with any of this "chemically" tasting weed people talk about. I'd say if you're feeding them shit you feel you need to clean out of their system in their last week or two of life, you should question what you're feeding them.

If you have good foliage your plant ( buds ) should never know the difference.
I have no problem with the plant cannibalizing the leaves. It's not affecting bud growth.
Leaves are not there just for photosynthesis....they are little nute storage units.

I just know that after years of growing, slow faded cannaibis tastes the best, ( cleanest, smoothest ) and buzziest.
Maybe why I win so many local coop awards. Even beating dispensary ( MMJ and retail )
And one of the reasons I don't smoke anybody else's weed but mine.

Try it yourself.
Take 2 plants feed one late and start fading the other 10 days to a week before harvest. Tell me which one better.

This is a Blueberry / Northern lights a week from harvest.
Doesn't look like it's suffering to me.
