Mini Splits and HVAC techs

so i read that even if you get quick connect mini splits you still need a tech to set them up or you could have leaks or problems you do not know anything about.

is it possible to set up everything and have a HVAC tech come by and not have to go upstairs inside my grow room. Be able to charge the lines, check for leaks, and all that stuff by just being outside the building and being able to see all of the line except the few feet that would go upstairs into another room.

or would they have to be able to the inside part of the split? can you tell them you just do not feel comfortable allowing people into your premises.

also i see it takes a few hundred dollars in hvac tools to even try to attempt it yourself with vacuum pumps and the gauges and such.

thats not true. What would be the point of them?

That said your selection is limited and not the best for quick connects.

Yes, and a liscense. I've read about it but never tried it. Thats only because I live in the middle of nowhere where it seems skilled labor doesn't exist.

Well I just dropped 1800 on a mini split...let's hope for the best. Going to just install it as the video showed without a tech.

Question for anyone that knows...

Dual zone mini splits, I've noticed that the total btu's are divided between zones. For example a 5 ton dual zone is 2.5 ton/zone.

I'm wondering if there is a way to run two air handlers from the same compressor? Think like a flip for lights...

I m sure there is a way, But we would just run 1 system and run a zone board with zone controls, much easier.
I just hooked my buddy up with this system.
he has 1 zone for his veg and 1 zone for his flower room

no, a air handler, you run a motorized damper on each zone with a control board, each zone has it's own t-stat

Dont have room for new duct...needs to be ductless.

Im trying to cool two flower rooms on a flip. A 6 ton dual zone would solve my problem but I haven't come across one that big.

If you could make a 3 ton cool one room for 12, then switch to the other. Save some cash...

I bought a fredreich breeze 24k, 2 summers ago, I think it was less than 2k. I wasn't happy with the install, and I wouldn't go that route again. But its still goin strong, and I've shown it no mercy.
